I suspect the "since 1907" tag line was included in an attempt to appease those looking through their rose tinted eyewear

"since 2017" would without doubt be a better option, those dwelling on the past will always have their memories

An awful lot of posts in this thread should conclude with the words "Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells". laughing

No don't cancel Boff,we could go Intrepading together and then we can talk about the price structure of site fees and how to simplefy them. Then after we have explored the route to then pub,we can inspire other explorers. On the way back, we can be pioneers of the first persons ever to have done this adventure.

The video does not, in my opinion, show the thinking behind the new logo. It shows the logo, yes, and how it can be portrayed umpteen different ways. It does not give us the thought processes and rationale that led up to choosing it. Surely the old one could have been modernised to keep some of the heritage? Reminds me of a similar exercise at work when a childish design was chosen from an entry of 2. At least that cost nothing. Apart from the re-branding of everything.

Apparently management gave members no notice as they did not wish to spoil the surprise.

    Yeah right!!

A woman's date of birth seems to be a variable function that increases linearly with time.

My father bought his first caravan, and joined the Caravan Club, whilst my mother was in hospital about to give birth - to me!

I spent my childhood growing up on Caravan Club sites.

Many years later my wife and I took up camping, and joined "the other club". We have had many enjoyable stays on their sites.

A couple of years ago we bought a Campervan (note not a Motorhome), and are now members of both clubs.

I remember our first trip to a Caravan Club site, and driving into site, I instantly felt at home with the familiar green signs and logo.

i don't know what the rebranded sites will look like, but it just won't be the same.

I really don't understand the new logo, unless you watch the video you have no idea what it stands for, it doesn't "say" anything. The logo of the other club says what it does on the tin, I suspect they will see an uptake in new memberships with the demise of the Caravan Club brand.

We will see how we get on this year with our two club membership, and see if we need to stay member of both

ps - why does the online booking firm refuse to let me select "2 axles"? and defaults to single axle? It always bugs me!

No one seems too bothered about the current generation of 'explorers' do they?

Your last point stinks of consultation ... and we've already had that ... haven't we?

It's great to be included and recognised. Now we need more motorhome friendly facilities! Absolutely must be Eco/nature/small mammal/reptile/amphibian/small bird friendly mind just like this one. Not just a death pit for all the likes to disappear down lke some I've seen. Afterall we intrepid adventurers leave only footprints on the environment don't we!

I like the new logo. Clever design reflecting a modern club for a modern age. A lot of the comments on here are to be expected... people are generally resistant to change. It'll grow on them

Just one piece of feedback I would give is that the logo on my iPhone App changed two days ago. I nearly Deleted User it because I thought I'd been hacked!

So we have managed for 55 years with the same name, but now we need a new one?

    Right O!

As someone who has never been caravaner (as yes and do know that my camper-van is technically a motor caravan and hence arguably a caravan and its not that long ago that the club classified me as a "caravaner"  ) I am delighted by the change because it is an acknowledgement that motor-homers not only exist but form a significant and increasing proportion of the membership (they said it not me) with different wants and needs mainly around mobility and travelling patterns. Whilst the change may be bowing to the inevitable I hope the change will be marked by actions in the shape of more "aire" style pitches and sites and not just words in the shape of rebranding.

I do feel sorry for CC management sometimes because they must feel whatever they do is perceived to be wrong and pleases nobody but I for one am very pleased about this change.

There has always been some doubt that the Club has been fully behind motorhome ownership in the Club, reading some of the posts on here sadly justify that thought. Hopefully the name change and rebranding is the start of removing those doubts. I have been asking myself had I not joined the Club as a caravan owner would I as only a motorhome owner have joined the Club, probably not. There are 250,000 registered motorhomes in the UK with perhaps as many as 100,000 being Club members. That still leaves a large growing market to capture to the benefit of the Club and it's members or would those who dislike the changes like to see the majority of the 100,000 motorhome  owning members leave the Club taking with them their membership contributions for the remainder to make good to meet their aspirations for improvements.

That's right, change the name and rebrand without consulting the membership, I bet the vast majority of members disagree including the caravaners with engines. Then make us pay for it by raising the prices, Its appalling. What's been wrong for the last 100 years. It has disgusted me so much that I considering belonging only to the Friendly Club
