Oh dear, hope you get it sorted without too much expense!
Electrics are a bit of a hobby for me. I wanted to study electrical engineering at Uni, but did not get good enough results in one exam, so was shunted into Civil Engineering instead.
This served me well as I learned all about constructing buildings, and went on to supervising concrete rigs in the North Sea, then moved into ships.
But I maintained my interest in electricals and electronics, and both our children have studied electrics/electronics with computer hardware/software.
Electrics are logical, nothing to be afraid of, but you do need to be careful and take precautions when working with electricity.
So far I have not found an electrician that knows more than I do, and often, though I say so myself, they are less competant in some areas.
My pet hates with electricians are that they leave far too little spare cable when wiring up things, they stuff far too many wires into some places, as per your experience Ian, and very few have a level to put sockets etc in a straight line!

Great! - the fog has rolled back, the frost has gone and it is now sunny and warmer.
Have just spread a covering of compost over flower beds for the plants' summer feed and moisture retention. Bulbs now beginning to show through and a Primula has been in full bloom since 1st Jan.
Now looking forward to a real warm spring so am getting the lawnmower out to clean and check it over.
Roll on Summer.

I agree with the warm spring and summer bit Redface. Still a bit murky here, but the frost appears to have gone since first thing.
Off to hospital for a hip x-ray today.. I always seem to be going there for one thing or another. It's a bit worrying when you seem to be visiting the hospital more frequently than the pub! Must try harder to redress the balance!!

Beautiful day here today, sun out and blue skies, still chilly out but who's complaining, not me.
We were only away 2 weeks but in that time the snowdrops and crocus have opened they are looking very nice today with the sun on them.
Dentist this afternoon to have the broken tooth looked at, guessing the temporary filling will have to be removed and refilled with amalgam, will see if they can do white filling first though.
Lots to do but have a fair amount of Admin to see to first so other things will have to wait. Weather forecast for this week looks to be good so should get all jobs completed.
JVB66, what was the problem with your cushions, sorry you have probably said and I missed it. (arn't I nosey)

Nice dry morning with a bit of frost. Feel like Billy No Mates as we're the lone caravan on the CL. Still, nobody going to upset us so thats a positive.
Went for a long stroll around various bits of Marbury Country Park and watched a barge being lifted up via the Anderton Boatlift, a pice of engineering marvel.
Had lunch in Frodsham, a bit of shopping, then back to the van to do the jobs. 5 minutes after closing the door and making the coffee the heavens opened. Due to pass through tonight so hoping to get out again tomorrow, maybe to Alderley Edge.
Enjoy your break Moulesy. Be gentle with the old man that is Nellie!

the updates to my 2017 Steam Rally Lists
Ah, Decisions, Decisions Decisions !!( But think
of the muddy fun to come !! )

We woke up this morning to the most fantastic view of the valley behind the cottage shrouded in mist with Latterbarrow and Claiffe Heights clear behind. And within minutes of the sun appearing over the hill top the mist had completely vanished. We drove round to Elterwater and walked along to Skelwith Bridge and round Loughrigg Tarn - very cold but clear and bright. A lovely day out!

Temporary filling now out as is the rest of the old amalgam one, nice new white resin filling in, mouth still a bit numb but going off so tea will be a bit late tonight.
Sounds good WN, hope no one comes and pitches right next to you and spoils your peace.
Moulsey, have a nice time, sound lovely.
Kj, hope the OH soon recovers from the extraction.

Sounds as if you ae having a good time Moulsey. Enjoy.
Today I went to the hospital for a hip x-ray. Got there and they said 2-3 waiting time. In the end I decided not to bother - went from the hospital to Market Bosworth to a pub for lunch. The x-ray can wait for another day.

We love The Red Lion at Warmington Bakers. We sometimes meet friends for lunch there. Glad you had a good weekend. Yes it was a very foggy miserable day here yesterday.😦

Thanks for that!! I'm not that old really, but am a bit like a creaking gate at the moment following my cold.
Which site are you staying on? We walked over to the boat lift, through the CP, last month from Northwich. Hope that the weather stays fine for the rest of your stay.

Well, that was our first tow with the new car, seems excellent. Nice run over to dealer, not so nice coming back as it was raining by then, and there was heavy traffic as we were much later than intended.
Van safely delivered then we had to have a long chat with the dealer, and a look at the new caravans.
However the bank balance is intact as we did not see anything we liked better than our current van!
Van should be ready for collection on Friday if all goes according to plan.
OH is recovering slowly, she has had some soup for dinner, and some yogurt, and we will have a cup of tea soon. Her face is still sore, but not too bad.

Glad to hear your first tow went well Kj, its always an anxious time the first tow. The weather here has gone severely down hill from daylight hours, now pouring with rain but forecast for fine tomorrow, at least we won't get frost tonight, fingers crossed or it will be like a skating rink.
Good that OH managed to eat something and not too much pain. Mines all ok now, managed a nice stir fry with noodles and some lovely salmon steaks Mmmmmm!

so many have been down this winter Tricky !!
I'm about a week on the clear side now, but still
resemble Sherpa Tenzing when I go out ( Nowhere
near tall enough to be mistaken for Edmund Hillary !! )
Remember -- Not too much honey tho' it will only
dilute the other parts of the treatment !!

Nellie, we're on Rangeway Bank Farm, under Frodsham but midway between there and Tarvin, about 1 mile to Delamere Forest. It'e OK but wouldn't suit those that need an awning as the ground slopes a bit but the pitches are flat. The area is peaceful.
Lovely morning here, fantastic walking weather. Back in the caravan now, just about to pour a glass of red. Don't go giving that cold to M.

Woke to a duller morning today - there'd obviously been quite a bit of rain overnight and a layer of snow on the higher ground. So we took advantage of the low level cycle/foot path that runs all the way from Hawkshead past Blelham Tarn to Wray Castle and back. A very pleasant walk through woods and across fields with great views both ways. Now back in the warm, log burner blazing away, with a nice cuppa! Snooze in the offing I think!
