Graubunden

We went to France last year, so having Swiss withdrawal symptoms! We've never been to Graubunden though, does anyone have any recommendations for this area? We are thinking about early September and would probably buy a Graubunden Pass. We will almost certainly have an ACSI card.

About 7 years ago we decided we wanted to go to St Moritz, and the only sensible way we could see of getting there with a caravan without using high passes was to follow the Inn Valley - the Engadine - upstream from Landeck in Austria. We did that and got there and explored that corner of Graubunden, but frankly we were a bit underwhelmed with St Moritz town itself and its high rise hotels and apartment blocks. Grindelwald and Kandersteg are still in the two top Swiss spots for us.

Thank you ET for your information, since posting we have been looking at combining a stay around Chur (and using the mountain trains) with a visit to Ticino and travelling through the San Bernadino tunnel.

Incidentally, it seems that all visitors to Ticino Canton this year will get a visitor card which entitles them to free public transport across the canton and discounts on Lake Lugano and some mountain railways/cable cars.
