Whilst the forum may be secondary to the main site, it is the latter that is of grave concern. There are numerous reports of problems with booking, searching for sites etc. The whole IT project demonstrates a total lack of oversight and management. Given that delivery of the new website was over nine months later than originally promised, and the delivered product was of such poor quality, I have to question the competence of those responsible for the project.

It seems "some"seem to have a problem on "some"types of computers, but apart from the problem of multiple posts, I have not had any real problems either on here or doing anything on the booking system either on the tablet I am useing now on a site or at home on my laptop

I have to question lots of things in life, CY, but the workings of this website come very low down on my list. I simply can't get excited about whether it works or not.

have to agree. Can I book a site? answer yes, - happy

Are the sites the usual standard? answer yes - happy

Can I post on CT, or the colours are wrong?  answer no - Am I bothered?

As forum go this one is the pits.

I both use them and have built them. It takes around a couple of days to adapt an off-the-shelf package and get it up and running and integrated into an existing website. I cannot understand why those responsible for this mess are trying to reinvent the wheel.

Yes, it's "workable" but so were caravans with iron rimmed wheels.

CY, you've been doing it for over a month now, how's that going for you?

In answer to the points made above.......yes, the site is still usable. Worse in some ways than it was before. Better in some ways (if you can be bothered re-sizing photos to post them - for me, that means I still can't post photos, so even that gain is wiped out).

But really......when the 'new, improved' web site and forum have been promised for at least a couple of years......and finally arrives a year or two late.......and, at the very, very best, is only 'no worse' than the previous version......I have to say, that is a reason to complain. Despite what the ardent CC supporters (ridiculously, in my view) try to say.

They are in the place where using CT is normally discussed - How to use CT.

Correct me if I am wrong, but from your posts and post history, it would seem you have given it all of a day to assess  the usability of the new forum. Perhaps you should reserve judgment until you have trialed it for a little longer.

Is it just my computer but when typing in 'compose a reply' the cursor is a few seconds behind my typing!  undecided

I've noticed that as well, but only after typing in a number of lines. Like now it is fine

Quick answer. Less than satisfactory. Even basic faults still remain to be corrected. This does nothing to either inspire confidence in the IT department nor encourage me to remain using this site. I may give it until the end of the month before seeking an alternative forum.

Bring back the old as far as booking sites is concerned. It's putting me off looking for a site, the old way was a lot simpler. Maybe it's CC's way of reducing block bookings that never happens.

One thing that has not changed is the way some members reply to a post with a different view to theirs.

Surely you mean, can't be bothered to post photos, rather than can't. That was my attitude on the old site as it involved booting up my PC and using a cloud based programme.

Now it takes literally seconds to resize using an app on the iPad, and then the photos can be easily added from my own device. No cloud based programme required. It also means we can add photos to any stories we post. This is definitely a significant improvement.

Just occasionally this occurs, but normally OK.

What I do find a bit annoying, is if I hit the backspace delete arrow on my iPad, it sometimes takes out a whole line or more before it stops.

Excellent appraisal of the "improvements"  in the new claimed  "State of the Art CC forum".

Ok It's usable - Just--. But the software has failed miserably to come up to the standards of proper Forum Software, both in functionality and accuracy.

How the handful of ardent CC supporters can claim that this updated forum is state of the art,    I am at a loss to understand.  --  Only explanation is that Specsavers are issuing free "Rose Tinted Spectacles".

    Cheers.......................K

Hang on, have I just read the expression "ardent supporters" of the CC from two completely different posters? Are they so unsure of their point of view that they have to belittle other with condescending expressins like that?

Surely "this is a friendly forum and such comments are not welcome"!!!  Laughing smley.i
