St Malo Port - overnight stay advice needed
Coming back to the UK on a Thursday morning 1030 crossing from St Malo to Portsmouth. We had planned to get there the evening before and wondered if there was anywhere handy we could stay either at the port or nearby? Does anyone have any recommendations?
Last summer we stayed overnight in the car parking area at Harwich to catch the morning ferry to Holland with no issues but appreciate not all ferry ports have this facility

I have heard others have stayed at the port for the morning ferry with no problems.

Details of overnight stays at all their ports are in the guides on the Brittany Ferries website. So yes, you can stay at St Malo, but with the ferry departure not until 10.30 am. I personally would only do it if I had completely spent up and couldn't afford a campsite.

La Domaine du Ville Houchet is probably as close as you can get. It is just off the main road into the port on the outskirts and is an easy drive to the dock from there and is fine although the pitches can be a bit bumpy. It is in the clubs foreign touring brochure you can find on line.
Le Petit Bois also in the brochure is also near this and is a nicer but more expensive site and pitches there are not suitable for very large units.
The dock only takes the one ferry so overnight stops on it should be fine but I have never tried it and it is not secure.
