This is more of a test post but my first impression is disappointment, appart from the ability to add video and photos and a changed layout there seems to no other added functionality. I'm using Firefox and the link above does not work!

Just testing.

Following a quick rummage around, I notice there are a lot of profile pics missing, eg >>>here<<<

I think there needs to be more contrast on the Discussions front page. it is also not showing the author of new posts on a thread making it even harder to see which discussion topics have new posts. If this is not corrected it is a backward step. As it is I am disappointed that there is no better way of identifying new post by a list since last visited or at least a recent list.
Is there no improvement to the "Stories" or "latest review" section? Think I had better shut up now but I am not at all impressed by the changes to the forum..

Ive just tried to modify my profile pic to a square shape and re up load it to reduce the amount of grey border..
Managed the first part but when I tried to upload it I got the message : Upload failed. Must be a valid image (jpg, gif, png, bmp)
Hmm Its a jpeg !
I tried to upload it here too but got another message that files need to be less than 500kb.. As all my pics tend to be around 1.5Mb and above I guess I wont be posting any photos.. Strange really as they go on to Facebook without problem.

A shock to find how my eyesight has deteriorated so badly in just three days.

I'm glad to see the silly stars have gone.

Contrast please not a washed out look.
Or are there different skins?
Has been difficult to get into the site but that may change?
Very promising....I think that Microsoft may have got it nearly right this time

Trying an unsized photo
Oh dear, it won't show separately full size. Rochelle when clicking on the uploaded photos thumbnail, the separate window that opens will not resize and show the full photo

Whilst not a prolific "liker", I notice that if you "like" a post it takes you back to the top of the page and you have to scroll down again. There are a significant number of deficiencies that have been enumerated elsewhere. Whilst any new iteration of a website takes a while to get used to, given past performance by the IT department, I am less than impressed by this latest effort. "User Friendly" would appear to be absent from their lexicon.
"We’ve listened to your feedback and are pleased to introduce some intuitive new features that we hope you will enjoy.
We’ve also completely refreshed the website’s look and feel. We’ve brought in a clean, modern design, simpler navigation and plenty of informative and inspirational content."
Do you seriously expect me to believe this guff?

Hi everyone,
Apologies for the shaky start, we’ve been having intermittent problems with the site this morning, but we should be ok from now on.
Just to alleviate a few queries in this thread:
- When you upload photos, the image files need to be below 500kb
- All photos will default to thumbnail size, they will not post as full size
- If you’re struggling to read the text, you can zoom in on the page using Ctrl+scroll up with your mouse
We’ve also been having a few issues migrating all the threads and stories from the last website to the new, that’s why you may see that some posts are missing, or some comments are missing from the threads – IT are looking into this and the posts will be recovered in due course.
Thanks for your feedback

Anybody familiar with the outgoing forum will be perfectly at home with this one. There is very little difference apart from a few cosmetic changes.
Where is the PM facility which had been discussed over a year ago ??.------------ Most proper forums include being able to send a private message to friends.
Some of the existing threads have been much edited during the changeover
The "Like" button still remains, strangely enough, would have been good to have a "Dislike" button to balance user opinion.
Otherwise the forum is relatively unchanged and should continue to fulfill the purpose for which it was originally devised.
Well done to the CC IT dept.

"If you’re struggling to read the text, you can zoom in on the page using Ctrl+scroll up with your mouse"
Thanks for the tip but it would help greatly if the contrast on the front discussion page could be improved. I have no issues of actually reading a thread other than the request to be able to go to a particular page in a long thread seems to be abscent?

Thanks for that Rochelle .... I think we can all work out how to make text look bigger, what we need is for text to be black & not dark grey. OK for younger eyes, but as most of us here are old(er) and grey, we would like black text .... like in a book

Zooming in using Cntrl+mouse scroll does help improve the contrast as well and the good thing is once you have it set, it stays like that until next you log on.
Some post seem to have disappeared but with two threads running on the same subject it is difficult to keep track. This one should be closed!

Just been trying to get my location removed from below my profile picture been into profile settings and tried to remove it but doesn't go away. You can change it to another area which i have done and informed Head office about this and have been told they are going to look into it. Not everybody wants the area they are from to be shown on the internet.
