Poorly dog

Hi everyone. Just thought I would update you, for those who have been following the story.
Lizzie had another bad bout of diarrhoea and passing some blood in the night. It is all very worrying. The vet has kept her in today to give her I.V. fluids, painkillers and other bits and bobs. We have to collect her at about 6.30pm this evening, so we will know more when we go to collect her. Sadly, at the moment, we ae having to prep ourselves for the worst case scenario.
It's all very sad and worrying. I'll post up any more news as we have it.
Thank you all for your concern, support and sympathy.

Been thinking about you DSB. Like most other pet owners, we have been there, so so stressful. You just never know what is around the corner. Keep your spirits up, I have no doubts there are a lot of friends on here thinking about you. Fingers crossed for
improvement tomorrow.0 -

Just collected her from the vets. Not really much news, but she seems well drugged up. Been on a drip for the day to try and re-hydrate her. She's just sleeping now. Didn't even greet us with the usual enthusiasm. More tests tomorrow.
David
Hopefully, the rest will do her the world of good. We've been there, too, and know just how worrying it is. Thoughts are with you, chin up...

Thanks Maria and Micky. We only had to get up once with her during the night, which is an improvement. She's ate just a couple of mouthfuls of I.D. canned food this morning. Off to the vet again in a moment for the blood tests and to see what they want to do today.

Carol has taken her to the vets this morning. They have kept her in to do blood tests and an x-ray. Of course, for a dog, an x-ray means a general anesthetic, so she has another day with the vet. So we're playing the waiting game again today.

Well we're back from the vets. X-rays came back as fine with the exception of a thickening of the intestinal and stomach wall which apparently indicates gastroenteritis as well as the already diagnosed pancreatitis. So we have more medication and a hefty vets bill - luckily a large proportion covered by insurance! She looks a lot brighter now, but is very tired after today's ordeal.
......results of the first lot of blood tests due on Monday..

That is very good news DSB. She is in there and fighting bless her! Hope you have a settled few days, it is just so stressful, seeing how things go. Look after yourselves!
