When i said wet wipes ,i ment toilet wipes, which are flushable
many make avalible
They are flushable, in that they disappear down the toilet, but they then cause havoc in the sewage system further on, and even reappear on beaches. Thames Water has a particular problem.
(Ps, please don't take this as criticism, it wasn't intended that way)

Thames Water has a particular problem.
Aren't they the people that treat sewage and empty the water into a river, then further down extract water for domestic consumption? If so. they really DO have a problem!

Possibly Nav. The South East remains a mystery to me on the whole, bar the odd visit, and then it is bottled water! I think the wet wipe/ other items down the loo system is country wide though.
Anyone who can remember swimming off some of the beautiful beaches down in Cornwall in the 1980's will relate to sewage problems on beaches. Some of the sights you met at times were sobering. Hence the massive SAS campaign and SW Water having to drastically
clean its act up. Generally very different now thankfully.0 -
I thought it wasn't so much swiming as going through the motions?

..If you check where most water come from these days in big cities its what you drunk a couple of days ago, ours comes from aquifiers, and our local chalk stream

Ah, it sometimes makes me giggle. Only on here would you find 35 posts about a toilet brush! (36 with mine!!)
Trust me, 36 posts is a mere nothing, this has pages to go yet! There will be quite a few shy readers out there, itching, (if I may use the word on this thread) to ask a question!

Then there is the materials question, plastic v wood, lovingly crafted v mass produced, cheap throwaway v quality long life expectancy!
Thats an issue to ponder, will the toilet brush outlast British built touring models!

I'm surprised CC hasn't removed brushes from the site facilities on H&S grounds.
Thet may as well judging by the amont of people who don't appear to know how to work one.

Synthetic or natural bristles?
NB. Those astronauts are drinking recycled stuff. They make Bear Grylls look a wimp.

It's good to get things out of the earth closet. Thomas Crapper would be proud of 21st century innovations!
