Our front benches are very comfortably sprung. Best advice that I can give is try before you buy. One of the reasons for our choice of 'van was seating comfort and also comfort of seating on the dinete. On our van these are also sprung but on other manufacturers
    wer not

I think the front singles are often never designed to be used as singles. They can in four berths be used as childrens but the description is really a way of giving potential buyers the dimensions.

The front singles on our c/van are both over 6ft (6ft2ins and 6ft 4ins) long and as standard double beds are 6ft 6insX4ft 6ins,front singles are only about half a double

Only you can decide on a fixed bed or not. We're on our third now, wouldn't have anything else. Just make sure you can fit on there comfortably though, our last one had the fridge at my feet and I could have done with slightly more room. this is not the
    reason we changed vans though.

We're newbies and opted for a bigger van ( albeit mainly for the two of us ) and we went for the fixed bed option and I'm pleased we did. Next time, it would have to be the fixed island bed. Too big and old to keep climbing over my wife in the middle of
    the night lol

After 4 months of daily bed-making on my "retirement trip", I vowed the next van would have a fixed bed!

The following year Sterling introduced exactly what we wanted so we bought a new van.  It's a twin axle, 7.95m, very spacious with a large shower room, side double bed, good kitchen area and reasonable lounge.

The lounge is the little compromise, but we are both not very tall, so it suits us fine for stretching out to watch TV.
