As a generalised Infographic it works quite well but it is unlikely to satisfy those amongst us that crave proper satistics. Those figures, the raw data, must have been compiled and its a shame if they can't be made available to anyone wanting a more indepth
look at the data.David

what it DOES do is tell us the number and type of problems we encounter as caravanners/MHers, with new/used vans....
what it DOESN'T do is tell us which vans were responsible for which type of issues....damp, electrical, gas, mechanical etc, etc....
so, as potential buyers, we cant make an informed decision on where to go for our next van based on all those vast number of respondent we were told about.
and as for the manufacturers, have they (the bad ones) been given the data to ensure that the identified issues (by brand/cause) can be addressed moving forward.
so, both groups needed to be able to get something meaningful from this exercise, on the face of it, this hasnt happened..
all we know is that, if we reply again next year, it'll just be one more 'stat' that doesnt actually help anyone out.
again....a very poor conclusion and a let down to those reading it.

I don't think that the opperative word is not given to the manufacturers, but
sold.As well as it being unfair to customers and those that took the time to complete the questionaire. It is grossly unfair to the manufacturers who ever they are whoose products are of a higher quality. Doesn't give them any incentve to perform does it, if
everyone is going to be lumped together?0 -

Not exactly JD Powers is it? We need an independent body to do a proper survey and rank the manufacturers so that we get something useful. I am really not that interested in whether x% of people want a fixed bed and whether Adria's sales manager says he's
really pleased because it demonstrates that he has a superior product. Does it have to go back to the dealer/factory to fix the damp? Do all the electrics fail on your first trip away? Does the fridge fail in the South of France when it's 35 deg. C. It's all
happened to me folks.0 -

Yes, I've just done two this morning, one for the C&CC (insurance company backing) and another for Orkney, which I think was asking the right questions and will get the right results for Orcadians and visitors alike. I don't think I'll be completing any
further van surveys!0 -
This so called survey leaves the consumer in exactly the same position they were in before it was conducted.
Hobson's choice. I cant believe that the publishers expect people of reasonable education to believe this diarrhea. Its insulting.0 -
The one with the C&CC is also the PC one so do not do both. The results of the previous ones have been fairly consistant with Adria and Sprite being the top and Eldiss bottom. The CC results for the top do not contradict the top placings but the bottom are
not given. Without the actual placings and the use of two categories based on the number of replies the CC results are of little use when choosing a maker but the report is interesting in some ways. What surprised me most was tou could get an idea of who the owner was from the make in some instances and they correctly showed that as a Lunar owner I am retired. I had never even thought of that nor can I see why as they seem to have their fair share of
family models in the renge.0 -
Well, I hope readers will find my responses to the questions I was asked in the survey, relating to a brand I had never heard of, usueful.
In summary they were.......Don''t know. Don't know. Don't know. Don't know.........etc.
