At least they are trying

I don't think it's a good idea, I wouldn't mind betting that one or two might get irate with the wardens and deny they did anything wrong. Don't know what the answer is except a few more visible (and friendly) walks around the site by the wardens.

I wish I had some sort of built in speed detector that allowed me to discern a vehicle going in excess of 5mph then state it was 10mph or other, alas I'm only Human so I can't tell.
I'd like to know if it'd stand up in court.0 -
Whilst it's good to see wardens doing something about speeding I can't understand why they don't just walk up to the offender and have a word in their ear to the effect that they'll be asked to leave site next time they're caught speeding. Why go to the
trouble of keeping a name and shame board? You're assuming the miscreant will be shamed. They may not give a damn.Maybe they've already done that and it hasn't worked. We will probably never know.

Oh well just my thoughts.. (I'm not keen on the idea of shaming people on holiday rather than approaching them quietly as BB suggested.)
..If one is spoken to "quietly", one may heed ,if one number is published it could deter numerous, and as we do not know the circumstances,we can but speculate ,
Ps does any one know if it was not a "fake " number

I suppose with all the dead and injured, damaged vehicles and equipment, and near misses that all these horrendous speed transgressions are causing we should encourage CC Ltd to do more to ensure our safety. How about all campers having to
show their competence to be allows on site by passing tests and examinations covering all aspect of camping, the expert and safe use of the related equipment and facilities, and knowledge of the rules. They tried that - COTY

It doesn't need to stand up in court true. . . .Just the CT kangaroo court. Part of the-'string em up because I don't like it' school of thought. It seems the older folk get the more they know of just how bad everyone is except themselves.

...Thats about every thread that is started on here then

What's the mania with standing up in court. The agreement we all have is to conform to the rules. The nominated referee is the warden. The only thing that has to stand up in court is did you p off the warden if so the rules are that he can require you to
leave. We may not be happy or comfortable with that but if we are not we shouldn't enter into the agreement. we should also respect that many are happy with the arrangement it's all horses for courses.0 -
I thought this thread was about wardens trying to make sure we all stick to the speed limit. While some may disagree with the methods that are employed. Surely we can all agree that keeping speed down whilst on site is desirable, and that the wardens are
the ones who should be making sure we do.0 -

Aw hell TW I had forgotten that. What a sterling demonstration of skills were shown, especially by the chairman. I wonder if his caravan was repaired well?
How could you forget, DD? It's ingrained in my memory for ever more.
I expect he got a new caravan one way or another.

Seems some will criticise any attempt to do something about anti social speeding on site. Might as well just shrug our shoulders and let 'em carry on regardless, I suppose!
..And some then moan that wardens "look the other way" when "some transgresionof the rules" is being commited

if the wardens had a little more time 'to warden', (you know, out there with customers) then they would be able to pick up on those who drive without the appropriate level of care for others...
not always easy from a tractor, toilet cubicle or office.....

Or when you are deliberately looking the other way.....

I think the way some of the posts on here have blown completley out of proportion, what Is a very good attempt to bring to the notice of others on site who for reasons only known to themselves, cannot just drive round the sites in first gear without touching
the go faster pedal, which as mentioned on other threads, with a decent car maintains a speed of about 5mph,I think the staff should be congratulated for the initiative ,despite the attempts by some to yet again put out the usual negatives about wardens what
ever they do0 -
Regardless of legality/accuracy/morality I'd have thought the deterrent effect would make it worth trying - just like those speed camera signs you see on so many roads these days! Worth a try anyway.
Anyone making an accusation may have to prove it and if CC Ltd has been complicit in a defamation they would be in the firing line as they have deep pockets. In any event, as I said earlier driving with due care involves much more than just keeping to an arbitrary speed limit, e.g. the driver watching where he / she is going rather than gawping at pitches and their relative merits.
Now can anyone say just how many deaths, injuries and damage incidents have happened in the last 12 months or so.
...There was a post from some one staying on Brighton site a few weeks ago who witnesed damage being done by a "member"speeding

IMHO clueless campers are a much bigger danger than
