if the price is right and its the layout you want then......
a couple of caveats.....
ALL MH of this age should be bought on condition....check damp, check damp and then check again.......the bugbear of many a van of this era.....check service history, the old Fiat was ok but had a few foibles.....gearbox......
Lunar might have made their 'reputation' as a caravan maker but didnt particularly shine in the MH stakes.....they have only just come back on the scene with their large Merc PVCs....
google what you can, get as much info about this model as is around and then check, check, and check again for damp, service history and gearbox issues....and get a warranty, and even some info from the previous owner so you can have a chat....
better still......visit MH facts, or MH fun to get plenty of info by brand (poss model) and base vehicle issues by brand/year.....
this post is not meant to be gloomy or put anyone off, its just that the older the vehicle (10 yrs plus) the more chance of issues that have been 'papered over'. the risk is much higher and the come back likely to be smaller.
good luck, HD.

...ps...
..get hold of the previous habitation service records, this will (might) show any recurring issues, and will certainly show that the previous owner was fastidious about maintenance.
check ALL the appliances on ALL fuels....fridge, freezer, heater, hot water.....on gas, 240v and 12v with engine running.
check ALL the 240v sockets and ALL the 12v sockets, check the PSU (power supply unit) and habitation contol panel/switches..
..again, 'old' electrics are a pain to resolve one you are on site somewhere....
....check cupboard doors/latches, bed conversion processes (if any), all external locks (hab and cab)....get a battery 'drop test' done to check the condition of vehicle and hab batteries, get the van weighed......to ensure you KNOW your payload (not what
someone tells you).....all this can be done at the dealers one morning, before you get too far down the road, literally.....

Turn up without an appointment and get to open the door first then smell. If it smells damp it probably is. You need to check everywhere including the backs of all the cupboards and in all the inaccesible places. Also look at the walls for signs of water
damage. If you find ANYTHING walk away. It may be your perfect layout and the salesman may say it's nothing but it's your money and time that are going to be spent putting it right afterwards. Make sure it has a full service history and has had it's damp checks
done. This is what the next prospective buyer might ask in a few years time when you decide to change.0 -
Lunar motorhomes were built to a good standard. Compared to established motorhome manufacturers at the time, they were considered uninspiring.
Have a look at this article which gives a brief history of Lunar motorhomes.

In simple terms, if the van you are looking at was built in the UK, free of dampp and in good condition [quite likely], then it will be a reasonable buy.
