Germany Site Franchises
Well after a family meeting looks like we're heading to Germany and hoping for good weather next year!
After enjoying the quality of the sites in France via Castels and Camping; and Sites-et-Paysages, does anyone know of similar in Germany?

Knaus and Azur run groups of campsites in Germany. I have been to a couple of Knaus ones in Germany and, I think, one Azur site. Worth remembering that there are no where near as many campsites in Germany as there are in France. Quite honestly I would be
more inclined to select an area and then ask for recommendations that might suit.David

As you have a MH, don't disregard the Stellplatze. We spent a very enjoyable 10 days or so along the Mosel, only using those. We saw a couple of campsites in that area, and preferred the space we had on the Stellplatze, as opposed to some of the ppitches
on those sites.Like DK the only chains I know of are Knaus and Azur; but also like DK, and AD, I'd advise to look for areas first, and sites second. Don't let a site dicctate where you go, as you could be very disappointed. Unless you plan to spend all your time on sites
of course, but I'd think that unlikely.0 -
Decide where you want to be an then look at the ACSI eurocamping website plenty for that area.
Just an example if you want Northern Germany and swimming complex et al

If you would like to see some German Stellplatz this link has a series of video's of them. Always best to have a plan B as some of the smaller ones can get pretty full. However there are many more than are represented by this website but it gives a taste of what to expect.

Thanks all, points noted!
as to why the chains, we're not (yet) seasoned campers So a certain level of quality is reassuring

Craig, what did you think of Davids link to the Stellplazen?
we have also done the Mosel and stayed on a few, this link is a great insight into how easy it is to float along, stopping (within reason) where you please, on first class 'sites'.
does a MHer need any more thn that being shown in the video clips?
you might want to stay a while somewhere, and if the weathers good, use a pool possibly.....but for exploring, these 'stopping places' cant be beaten....
good luck...
