Pont de Normandie

Hi all,

In July we will be going to northern brittany from our overnight stop at Neufchatel en bray. All directions we've looked into take us over the pont de normandie. Has any one driven over this with their van? We're a bit nervous about it as last year we went
over the bridge at La Rochelle which isn't as big but it was rather breezy & threw us about a bit. Any wise advice or calming words of encouragement welcome.

Yes, we've towed our 'van over the Pont. It's wide, has a cycle track and is no problem whatsoever. Don't worry! Have a great trip.

We have driven over it whilst towing on 6 occassions, sometimes a bit breezy and there is nothing to worry about.  Watch your speed coming down the other side and you will be fine.  Our girls love the view from the top so they will miss not crossing it this
year, they will have to make do with Millau instead!!

Crossed it loads of times with the caravan. Not a problem at all.

It's a dramatic crossing and worth it for the views. Better on a motorcycle though as it's free!

If you find conditions on the day a bit iffy, you can always continue on to Tancarville which is a bit more sheltered and won't add a mega amount to your travel.

Or you could use Pont de Brotonne, used it last year from Le Bec Hellouin.
