Use Via Michelin on-line for the route and the Club's Touring Europe site guide for the stopovers. Cheers.

After ten years of going to Rovinj, I have used every route out. The one I like the best is:-Calais, Reims, Metz, Strasburg, Basel, Lucerne, Milan, Garda, Venice, Trieste, Rovinj. Pick your distance to travel each day look at ACSI CD for campsite near route,
phone ahead to check on TA and reception opening time.

Problem is going through Switzerland makes it very expensive.especially if you have a car and caravan puts around £50 on the trip.

I have only been once but I used a route similar to Dianne, down through Germany to Passau then across Austria via Graz into Slovenia to Zagreb, thence on down to the Croatian coast. Detail of the trip is

    Sorry but I must add.

    1. Stay at side of road instead of site ...save money.

    2. Don't use tollroads..... save money.

    3. Don't go to countries that charge vignittes......save money.

    4. Don,t use tunnel/ferries.....save money.

    5. Stay at home and save even more money!!!

After driving 2000 miles to Croatia and back I do not think £50 is a major factor in deciding the route, but that may be yours.
