You are able to book a different return route - just not on line!  For some reason the 'return crossing' drop down list of ports all start from England!!!

Agreed you can do differant routes, we are going out Portsmouth to Santander back Caen to Portsmouth. Easiest way to get a price is do it as 2 single crossings, then phone the club and speak to them they might even advise of discount.

DD, I don't understand your problem. I have just done a dummy booking on-line on the CC booking site going out from Plymouth to Roscoff and coming back from Caen to Portsmouth. Not a problem - the price and timings came up on screen in ten seconds.

ET.  Worked for me too.  Dorset Driver all you need to do is put a different return crossing in the drop down box!  Allowed different route but same company,  in my case Britanny Ferries

I've just tried it again, because I got just the same message as Deleted UserUser.  However, this time whilst at first I can only see crossings from England to France in the return crossing drop down, if you leave the drop down list for a few more seconds it
does 'refresh' and then offers you all the France to England options, so you can then select the alternative return.

Try it DD - but leave 15 or 20 seconds after dropping down the list.

    Here's my result:

    BRIT

    16 Mar 2016 Plymouth - Roscoff

    Dep: 15:00 Arr: 21:30

    Duration: 5hr 30min

    Ship Name: Bretagne

    07 Apr 2016 Cherbourg - Poole

    Dep: 18:30 Arr: 21:45

    Duration: 4hr 15min

    Ship Name: Barfleur

DD, Try things in this order. Put in Outward route and then Inward  route BEFORE you start putting in dates and size of vehicles etc. it's instantaneous  on ths I-pad without the delay that Val spoke of.

    Hello

A return crossing nowadays is the same price as two single journeys so get your pricing as two singles. I have just tried it out and it worked.

I have just done what euro traveller suggested and it worked for me on my tablet as well.

I've just tried it as well out of curiosity.  First I selected the outward journey as Portsmouth-Bilbao, and as soon as I clicked on inbound I got a list of 11 options for travelling back with BF, all different routes, from France and Spain.  I randomly
selected Le Havre-Portsmouth, input my dates and vehicle details and I got 9 different returns to choose from.

Eye-watering prices I must say!  But I certainly didn't have a problem selecting different outbound and inbound routes at all.

Given the amount of time taken up with this would it not have been quicker to phone up CC and make the booking that way?

For some inexplicable reason it has now worked as expected for me.

I was the same, yesterday, DD.  I couldn't get it to accept the details, and then when I clicked OK it came up with the error message you posted earlier.  However, an hour or so later (as I mentioned) in my previous post, it worked OK after leaving it a
    few seconds between clicks.

I think there is a glitch in the software somewhere, (either at the CC end, or depending on what we're all using to access it) and it probably should be something that the CC could look at, as it may lose them potential bookings.

It makes me laugh how people get so uptight over such trivial things, We booked Pool to Cherboug back Roscoff to Plymouth, we had a problem on line so I phoned the booking line and saved over £200 compaired to booking direct with BF and the cc booking included
    12 nights camping cheques

Does it really matter haveing to use the old fashoned way........ a telephone?

Csma i had never heard of it and just had a  look on line , read some of the posts on here . Are we still getting the best deal if we book with the cc, as we get the Camping Cheques.. We normally go to France in June but the cost was £60 or so more expensive
. Is this due to the Football or what. Still wondering whether we are going to try September instead .
