Chamonix to Florence E25

We are planning a cross country trip from Rscoff - our preferred port and handy from where we live - across France into Italy and eventually to Florence.  Looking at googlemaps I see that we would join the E25 once we have crossed the border into Italy.
I am wondering if anyone who knows this road can tell me wha it is like and whether it includes mountain passes and very steep gradients.  Steep gradients don't worrry me for towing as we have plenty of torque in our tow car.  What does concern me is that
neither of us have a head for heights and no loger want to use routes with precipitous drops to one side.  Any comments would be gratefully received.

Once you are through the Mont Blanc tunnel (toll €58 for car+ caravan)  from Chamonix into Italy the road continues as motorway, with one short tunnel after another you go down the valley past Aosta. There are no perils or precipitous drops.

If you want to stop and explore the Italian side of the mountains (where the weather is often better) then Camping Monte Bianco, on the old main road at Sarre just before you get to Aosta, is an easy and pleasant stop over, but otherwise it's motorway almost all the way to Florence - with a choice of routes to get there.
