The Angel of the North. When first mooted I thought it sounded stupid. Then I passed it a few years ago-outstanding, striking & quite iconic

And stretching back into the Fifties - my Ercol Loveseat. It's not usually kept outside, but I had just finished renovating it after I bought it at a local auction. This version (with 13 spindles) was made between 1956 and 1960. Sorry - I'm a bit of an Ercol nut.

The trimphone.A design that is instantly recognisable and has stood the test of time and was a radical change at the time of launch. That for me is what an iconic design is all about and its great to see what other people concider to be truly iconic.
