Remember these from the 60,s Cool

When I did Domestic Science at school in the 60's all the "cool" giirls had one of these. I felt mortified as I had a home made basket my mother made at a basket weaving class. But in reality it was much better suited to carrying home our creations

edit - why doesn't the quoted picture show in my reply?

One thing I am positive about is that this website will be the icon for the 2000 (funnily when you can say the sixties, seventies, etc, do we say the teens for years 2010-2019?).  Anyway, I'm postive that this website will be famous for making posting of
    photographs very difficult to doWink

The Angel of the North. When first mooted I thought it sounded stupid. Then I passed it a few years ago-outstanding, striking & quite iconicHappy

I was going to say the Angel of The North I like going to see it and driving past it on the motorway always a nice sight.

Doesn't give out a lot of light once it's cooled down though plus it's a significant fire risk until it does. Wink

My mini transistor radio, in the early sixties, used to pick up Radio Luxembourg and then pirate radio.

My friend Brenda's Dansette portable record player, in 1960, and the first record I ever heard played on it - Travellin' Light, by Cliff Richard.

    Anyone have any photographs?

Yes i agree it was a radical change from the norm and a very retro item these days and again very reccognisable. An original would probably quite collectable these days.

The V9(Peter) is from the 20th century, used as an aid for posting pictures onto 21st century social media like forums. Very useful after all those years from being first created. Very rare indeed(in fact unique)HappyLaughing
