Lovely sunny day here in Worthing but dark too early! Been doing deliveries in rush hour traffic which now seems to be easing a little. Doing a Macdonalds order at the moment. Christmas lights everywhere in the town centre.

Sounds like a lovely day milliehull, not been to a Christmas market for years - may have to rectify that . Helenandtrevor enjoy yours tomorrow.
The soup us really tasty, veg all peeled swede, potato, carrot, turnip, some cabbage and chopped saved ages in prep, just sweated them and added chicken stick, made about 750ml.
Want a knitting or sewing craft project can't decide whether to make Christmas cushions but that'll need inners etc and not really sure I want them, ladies may understand where I'm coming from . Got out the wool and needles to attempt socks,
not sure I'm gonna stick with it .0 -
Last night we finished the last order at 22:30. It was a Brio order and the chef wasn't happy to have to cook so late. It's strange how some customers insist on ordering food when it's nearly closing time.
Malcolm.....it's strange that anyone orders rubbish food at high prices and needs it to be delivered at all!
Especially when we are told that so many people are 'Jams' (Just about managing).

Blue skies but cold here and getting even colder this evening.
We had a drive to the big city today (Preston), to spend the £50 M&S voucher that Sky gave us as new customers. I came away with a pair of moleskin trousers and some thermal socks. Thanks Sky.

Beautiful sunny day here on the West Lancashire coast (theres no East Lancashire coast in case you're wondering).
Drove to Crosby, north Liverpool, and had a walk along the beach looking at Anthony Gormleys sculptures, Another Place, and they were quite magnificent, in my opinion. The weather helped as long shadows were cast and several ships passed
close by on leaving Liverpool. Worth a visit if you are in the area.Off home tomorrow after a lovely week Monday notwithstanding.

Goldie (and anyone else who likes music).......don't know if you know this, but if you join Amazon Prime (£79/year) you can download their music for free.
As an example, they have several Squeeze albums (including "Cradle to the Grave" and what looks like a 'best of' album and several others).
They also have thousands of other albums, including new releases (Mrs H recently downloaded Robbie Williams' new album for free).
So, as well as the other benefits of Prime, a music fan could easily get more than their money's worth in just music.

I might add I haven't bought the material for the cushions as yet, nor have I knitted sicks
I've got a pair of Hose (kilt socks) on the go, half of one done, haven't picked them up for ages thanks for the reminder Once did 3 pairs
of hose when the eldest boy got married, Oh and both sons all had matching hose. Labour of love, not my favourite things to knit. Good luck with them OH says they are nice and warm.0 -

Bakers, I decided a few years ago that I fancied embroidering some Christmas serviettes but have never managed to find any embroidery transfers. Embroidery seems to gave gone out of fashion. Any ideas?

MillieH, I saw an advert in one of the magazines (not sure which) for Christmas designs, they were for a table runner or a small table cloth, one of them was a Robin design. Complete set, material, silks etc. Sorry can't at think what magazine it was in

Write your comments here...You're right, Ian. Brio prices are quite high and if they keep ordering and paying using card payments, they must be running up some debt. That's probably why they are just about managing. Home cooked food is much lower cost.

Changed our flying day to today, as tomorrow looks grey and cold.
Flew down to Nottingham (just under East Midlands' zone). A lovely airfield and a nice cafe.
Write your comments here...As a matter of interest, Ian, how far could you fly on a perfect flying day, obviously allowing for the return or would you just refuel at your destiation? Do you have to avoid any area?

Write your comments here...When I first started this job, I was told that at the beginning of the month people pay mostly cash, later in the month there are more debit card orders and towards the end of the month before pay day, it's mostly credit card orders.

Wherenext......our aircraft holds 100 litres of fuel and burns about 13 - 14 litres per hour.......so its endurance is far more than my bladder! That's quite high and a typical light aircraft would maybe have 2 to 5 hours endurance.
You can get fuel at most airfields (it's a more refined fuel called Avgas, as opposed to Mogas used by cars) and currently costs anything from about £1.30 to £1.80 per litre. Some of the smaller airfilelds aren't always staffed up every day of the
week though. Some have self-serve fuel pumps.You can fly pretty much anywhere, with some restrictions. Some of the big airports around London are surrounded by Class A airspace, which means that only certain aircraft can enter (typically, commercial flights). Other airports are surrounded by
class D airspace that you can enter, but only with permission of air traffic control.Much of the country has open airspace, with very few restrictions.
To give an example, we flew down to Nottingham by skirting aound Doncaster airspace, then I contacted East Midlands (didn't have to, but only polite) as we dipped under the outer edge of their airspace, which at that point extended from 2500 ft upwards.
I then contacted Nottingham Airfield to check their joining instructions i.e. which runway they were using, what the circuit direction was and anything else they wanted to tell me.To answer your question, you could, if you wished, fly the length and breadth of the country and dodge around all controlled airspace, if you wished. You wouldn't even need to speak to any air traffic controllers, if you wished. Most pilots do though,
in order to get a 'basic service' at least - the controller will then usually tell them about conflicting traffic (although with a basic service, responsibility to 'see and avoid' remains with the pilot).Hope that helps.

We are away in the van at the moment and have woken up to a very frosty morning although we left the heating on low last night so nice and warm in here. Just having a cup of coffee then we are going a walk in to the town. We have relatives who also have
