Strange sort of morning weather wise. We set off for our dog walk in the dry then it hailed, that turned to rain and sleet ....
Pretty stormy still this morning. My son's Westie was at my house on a sleep-over last night and when I picked up his harness to take him out this morning he shot into the spare bedroom und under the bed and won't come out. I can't blame him.

We've got our electric oven in the awning and the Sunday Roast is cooking in it as I type this. It's roast chicken with roast potatoes and stuffing, chicken gravy and bread sauce. The vegetables will be done on the electric hob on the caravan cooker.

Write your comments here...I don't blame him either. This is horrible weather to go out in.
We're staying put inside the warmth and shelter of our caravan until we get called out this afternoon on a delivery.

He may change his mind if he gets a whiff of your roast dinner..

We are currently travelling up country to Cheshire to pick up our new Border Collie pup up, feeling very excited.
Hope you & the 'pup' settle down together Canenriot !!
Most B.C.s are little bundles of fun & fluff all wrapped round a great big ball of energy so I wish you both well !!
Right now I'm trying to warm my fingers up a little !!
Spent a few mins in the workshop ( shed ) giving the newly re-roofed bird table its final coat of stain so in a a little while it will be put back into its own spot for the Feathered Inspection, but no food on it 'til I'm certain the stain is fully dry. But before that I will be doing My Good Neighbour bit & feeding & watering the local Homing Pigeons, while the owner is having a couple of days break up there on the North Wales Coast -- Bit Fresh I suspect !!

Everyone looks as though they have had a busy, productive but cold day. Very heavy frost first thing and very cold all day here. I had a wonderful day shopping and having lunch with our daughter in Milton Keynes today. I even managed to get some Christmas
presents (plus something for myself)Glad you had a good day Millie, MK is good for shopping, but end up walking miles it so large., my feet are usually aching at the end. I will have to get there myself to meet up with the boys for Christmas Shopping.

Yes we walked miles Helen. At one point we had to retrace our steps as we had missed a shop we wanted to go into so walked even further than needed. I must admit I feel rather tired today.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Lomond Woods Holiday Park at Loch Lomond. It was cold all weekend but enjoyable they have a light display on at the moment at Lomond Shores outlets which is very nice all the shops are gearing up for Christmas
so it felt like a very festive weekend and the site was quite busy considering it is November. We spent last night in the van watching telly and had a few drinks. Away again next weekend we have a long weekend so 3 nights away which will be good and we are
being joined by relatives who also have a motorhome so it should be a good weekend.0 -

Re replies to my post about the Bay Gateway -
It's off the north Lancaster exit (J34 I think ). As it's a non motorway dual carriageway it also has a wide cycle path. It avoids the congestion in Lancaster, if you're heading to Heysham or Morecambe.
Morecambe used to be a quiet, typical seaside town. I learnt to swim in the open air pool in the 1950s and we used to go down to go on the fair. If you look out to sea it's OK, or if you're a massive fan of Eric Morecambe, you can stand next to his statue.
We go to few gigs at The Platform (old railway station), but that's about all there is to recommend it. There's also a bowling alley, cinema and the usual tatty shops on the front (all seemed to be closed yesterday).
Sorry if I've upset any Morecambe residents.
These half days out are all we get in getting away now. Until the stock is out again (late April/May) there's no nights away.

It's been non-stop deliveries for the last four hours. No sooner had we finished lunch, it started.

Goldie, I remember swimming in the open air pool at Morecombe too. We had a family holiday there in a guesthouse in the 50s and I seem to remember beauty contests at the pool. I think Woolworths was a great attraction as well. We usually went on walking
holidays so that was a change for us!0 -

I had to take a second look at that to work it out. (I found the quick sands even scarier!)
Actually there is one thing I like, which I got out of the freezer today, Morecambe Bay Potted Shrimps. I'm now going to have some on toast for tea.

Been trying to plan our long trip starting in April, unfortunately we will leave home in the middle of the school Easter break, so full facility sites will be busy and expensive.
Looking at CLs or no facility CC sites, and working backwards from Harwich. Have booked Brookcroft near Harwich, now looking at 2 other areas to explore on our way there. Route will basically be down the 74 past Carlisle then over to join the A1 at Scotch
Corner. Past Peterborough we take the A14 then the M11.Thinking Northumberland as first stop. Need EHU and hardstanding, wifi would be a bonus, but not essential. Not near a busy road either.
Will grass be in use on CC sites in April?
Bit stuck on our second stop.

Hi KjellNN
General Chat is not the place to ask such questions as its on topic and it should more properly be asked in UK Campsites and Touring. Can you repost? Just a reminder to members that General Chat should be used for topics not covered by other section headings.
Thanks
David
