It's our first day back at Worthing today. Actually, it's Findon. Lovely sunny morning after all that rain yesterday. We got back a day earlier because the aircon didn't take long to fix. We had arrived at the Truma factory at 8 a.m. and by 9 a.m. it was
all done.Glad you got the air con fixed Malcolm, shame you didn't have time to explore the peak district this time.
Glad you got it fixed sorry you didn't give yourself a few days to explore having made the effort and incurred the cost of getting there. I do hope you're going to stick with the days off as planned. Won't hurt r of you tyo enjoy a day without being at someone's
beck and call.Write your comments here...You're right, Bakers2. I wish it could have been longer. I felt shattered having to drive all the way back to Worthing the same day.

We've just finished putting the awning up. It's quite warm in there with the sun coming through the front window.

Malcolm it could have been as long as you fancied. You're self employed and your caravan was behind you.

Write your comments here...I tried to get today off but the boss said he couldn't cover because he had to go to a meeting. So in the end, I agreed to go into work at 6p.m. So I only have to do a half day today which is better than doing from 12 noon.

Brilliantly cold and sunny. I've been shopping to stock up for a few esentials - lovely drive along quiet roads (in fact no cars at all).
Now gearing myself up to get on with Stuff, while listening to Leonard Cohen. He's been in the background of my life for nearly 50 years.

Finished making the new soup, tried it for lunch and neither of us liked it so its been binned batch of chicken and noodle soup now made,
we like that one. Chicken and veg I'll do tomorrow. Spagetti Bolognese in slow cooker, chicken thighs in pressure cooker.Smart tv box won't update BBCiplayer just keeps say downloading, had enough so switched it off, OH can look at it later, he's outside in the freezing cold making new Oak door thresholds, prior to us getting the new hall/stairs carpet fitted. Will keep him
warm with lots of soup and coffee.0 -
Isn't that annoying tammygirl? All that effort not to mention ingredients . Thanks for good wishes, its neither getting worse or better!!! So pottering as I can. Glorious sun and conservatory wonderfully warm but will loose the sun in an hour so ud better
make the most if it0 -
Had a productive morning for once , no snoozing with a cup of cold coffee today !
Forecast for Saturday 'Orrible so decided to get Aged Sisters Birthday present and take it on a dry day. Had to empty my wallet of all but the last fiver, 'cos the Garden Centre has problems with some terminals not accepting
credit cards & I was NOT walking round a fairly busy G/Centre with a D G B Bird table & stand , under my arm
!!At least Sister's gates were wide open waiting for the gas-man who was due for Old Boilers annual service . Unlike Flanders & Swann's song -- he did not come, but at least phoned to re-arrange the appointment!!
Keep Warm, Dry and Safe you lot !!

We had lunch in the caravan and then went to the bank after which we went shopping at the Tesco Extra in Durrington. Bells Whisky was £15 for a litre bottle compared to £20 not long ago. So I got stocked up with a couple of bottles! That should last me a while! Apart from that, we filled the trolley with groceries. Then we drove home to stock up our fridge/freezer and larder with all our purchases, having taken a big hit on my credit card! Luckily I have a lump sum coming from a private pension plan that has matured, in the next three days, less tax, of course!

Congratulations, Malcolm - you're the first to get that coveted gold star (although it looked rather more yellow than gold on my tablet!) There were one or two others trying hard to heat you but all that effort's paid off handsomely!

Write your comments here...Thanks Chris. Also I just had some brilliant news, a seasonal pitch at Northbrook Farm for next year, now offered to me due to a cancellation. So I rang back to accept the offer.

Took the car into town, rarely hapoens, and wont again for a long time. Multistorey packed struggled to find a space, level 10, and then had to get out of the car before hubby drove into the space - so tight are the spaces. Built in the late 60's and refurbished
recently but spaces remained the same rather than 'improving' to accommodate today's cars!!!! Its all very well opening new shops and John Lewis but deceasing total parking spaces as a result not a clever move!! Rant overStocked up on meat. My favourite market stall for fruit and veg missing today, didn't get there last week so may have been a sign! So just got carrots and cabbage from another stall for tonight.
I enjoyed the Mary Berry programme last night but not been inspired to make a Victoria sandwich, taken to the sofa again as feeling energyless again.

Had a nice day out in Liverpool. Mrs.WN had ordered some painting accessories online from an art supplierrs and we went over to Lpool to pick them up. Of course she had to find more stuff in the shop that was needed and got a further 10% discount on them
as a result of the order. Even managed to get her into a shoe shop, something she absolutely hates (yes, I know!), and she actually bought a pair of shoes. I think the wine at lunchtime probably helped. A lovely sunny day as well so that was a bonus.0 -

Write your comments here...I can't use multi storey car parks at all, Bakers2 because of the 6ft. 6ins height limit. Our car with its roof box won't fit under that. We need 7 ft. 6 ins height clearance.

A glass of wine always helps although I sometimes prefer a wee dram myself!

Gorgeous autumn day today. Very cold, frosty walk with the dogs this morning followed by Gentlemen's roll up and lunch at Bowls Club (really just an excuse for a pint and a bacon & egg sandwich for lunch!). Spent most of the afternoon putting the finishing
touches to tonight's quiz night - have to triple check all the answers as they're an argumentative lot down in Chew Valley!0 -
I loved the Mary Berry programme last night. I have her autobiography which came out a couple of years ago. My cousin used to work for her many years ago and wrote a piece for it. I often make her Victoria sandwich. It is so easy and quick. Apparently she is going to make a new programme for BBC which which is something to do with going round stately homes and making dishes from their culinary history.

Yesterday my wine order was delivered, so the racks in the pantry are looking much better now that I've unpacked five cases.
The Gin side of the spirit shelf in the cupboard is a bit tight for space after I added this morning's bargain - £8.00 off a bottle of Caorunn Gin. It would have been rude to have walked past it in the shop.
As you may have gathered I don't like to run low on food and drink. You never know who might pop in.

It was a good programme, she has done a lot in her time and coped with a lot too. Actually I just fancied a nice cake and enjoyed making the sponge today!
Hope Bakers2 starts to feel better, must be a real bug to lay you low.
I have always used Mary Berry's all in one Victoria sponge recipe, always seems to work.
Hope you enjoyed the cake Brue.
