"thought about going to Coniston or Meathop fell but the weather wasn't great for there either after today"

TG, yesterday was nice and sunnt  & today turned out not too bad but cold. However the forecast is for rain and snowover the next few hours so I think you did right heading home. We thought of having  a few more days away but toothache has decided it for
us and we head home tomorrow if not snowed in. As you say there's always another time to go out again.

Write your comments here...Gee, you can't get anything for free without someone else wanting a bit of the action.Frown. Well, I hope you get
it sorted out on Friday. I had an emergency appt yesterday as another molar was giving me toothache. Turns out it was even more root canal trouble. A sort of painful BOGOF. Yell so
last night I was drooling even more than usual and now have another visit next Monday afternoon. Hope it goes well as we're supposed to be away in the van on Tuesday.

Anyway hope they can sort yours out.

Well, it's been a long day, across the pond even longer! Don't have nightmares anyone.....Wink I'm now going to read my Kindle, P.G.Wodehouse, The Cocktail Hour, a comic tale of woe. Sorry I couldn't help with your Kindle question B2 mine is a basic version and it's still a bit of a mystery to me.

We had our last works pensioner group meeting before Christmas today. Its usual to have some form of entertainment and today was no exception. Funnily enough we were entertained by a lady who once worked with us many years ago. Her name is Fiona Harrison and she was very good. She does mainly retro/nostalgia  work which is very popular with many, despite the fact that many of them had not been born when some of the songs were popular. Being a solo singer she makes good use of sound technology which is quite clever. Should anyone require this sort of entertainer I have put a link to her website for those interested.

My day turned out better than expected. A lovely friend has been re covering our conservatory chair cushions and arrived with them all finished this morning (they look wonderful) and stayed for a coffee and a chat. Then my cousin who lives in Hampshire rang
this afternoon and we had a lovely chat catching up on all the family news. In between I have made the Christmas cake and also some green tomato chutney.Smile

Enjoy your reading, David Klyne has repiled on my thread, so I await further info.  Apparently I can connect my Kindle to my computer.  I had an older style one, hubby bought me the Fire couple of years ago.  Great for internet connection so emails etc when
away from computer, laptop battery gave up and no longer available from HP Sealed so long as you have connection to WiFi.  Except now I appear
to have a full memory.  Nice to have colour, but still hard to read in bright light, such as a sunny day.

I'ts been quite benign today but has started to ache again this evening. Might have something to do with the cold beer I'm having. Wink The pain goes all the way up one side of my face and behind the eye. Yell Sorry to hear that you've another that's causing problems, and hope that you get it sorted out before your trip away.

The snow wasn't that deep but all the land up at Penrith was covered. The Lakeland hill did look spectacular. Put off leaving till late morning, all the roads were clear and only a flurry or 2 of snow on the way home. The snow on the ground finally ran out
as we dropped down past Kendal and there was virtually none after that. Van unloaded and put away by 2:00 and OH managed to get 4 loads of washing done by dinner time. Dry, sunny but cold afternoon although it has now started to rain. Just hope that it doesn't
    freeze overnight.

Thanks Millie & B2. I do too, don't want to go through a series of root canal treatment. Perhaps it will end up with an extraction. Our dentist has just packed in and we've a young couple who have take over his practice, so a new experience on Friday. Fingers
    crossed.

i had my top teeth out many years ago. Never had a moment's bother with them since. I don't take the false ones out at night and always give my gums a vigorous brushing when cleaning my teeth.

Our daughters terrier leapt up onto OH's knee when he was drinking a mug of tea. The mug knocked a wobbly "canine" tooth out that the dentist had been longing to extract. It was a bit of a joke when the dentist saw the gap. The dog did a good job, it was a very big tooth! But since then a replacement lightweight plate has improved the toothless look. Wink
