NTH, glad to hear you got home with no problems from the weather. We didn't get any snow as forecast. Hope the trip to the dentist isn't root canal treatment.
Bakers2 hope you feel better soon.
We woke to a misty day, the sun is out and hopefully will burn it off, getting moaned at by OH to get a move on as we are going off to Dundee, so must fly have a good day all.

Loved the John Lewis advert have sent to NZ, see my comments on that thread if you're interested .
Still feeling under par but made pumpkin soup very easy and rather delicious. Wandered over to local Lidl to buy crusty rolls to go with, naturally bought more than rolls but only things I needed including deluxe mincemeat with rum and raisin. Now ready
for making mince pies and freezing when the urge attacks, same with cake and puddingStarted attacking storage on Kindle, not in the right frame of mind so play on here before sorting the kitchen out. Hubby working in the garden dry and bright here now but chilly.

Did our usual weekly shop at Waitrose. Always start with a free Americano to get me in the mood and Margaret and I share an almond croissant. Managed to get a real bargain, a cooked chicken for £1.49 Apparently
they had not sold as well today as they usually do and they had another oven load ready to put out. We were glad to help them out!!!David

Strange weather during the afternoon. Brilliant sunshine but some cloud, heavy drops of rain whilst hubby cut the grass (once again he reckons its the last time this year ) it didn't seem to wet anything. Turned much cooler then hail shower. Drew the curtains
at 4.30pm hint of a sunset. Roll on the warmer weather and longer days.0 -
Filthy 'orrible showery chilly miserable day 'ere in the County Palatine, but have had a giggle with a delivery driver, tho' He was'nt in Giggle Mode !!
Parked as usual on the road more or less opposite Aged Sister's house and had finished my first coffee when the fun started. A large CO--OP artic arrived to deliver to the local store ( opposite but a tad further up the road ). Stopped, started, stopped again, then drove off. He'd gone twice round the block & once turned round - then he tried reversing onto the car park to access the loading area.
Back, forward, back, forward hardly turning his Steering Wheel, but he succeeded in flattening the concrete bollard the Council had placed to protect the grass verge, then gave up & drove off !
Actually he'd gone round the block again & parked up kerbside & started unloading from there, blocking the access to the next car park up the road. !
DING DONG, front door bell -- so I answered it & found a Senior Assistant from the CO-OP standing there to appologise for the bollard & laughing over the drivers antics so I suggested a Christmas Card & a referral to B. S. M. if they still give HGV driving lessons -- more laughter. All this took place while the driver trotted round taking piccys on his mobile to help him defend himself when his boss found out. !
Some days are moody, blue days but some days are hilarious days !!
Brian A B M
P.S. I have to admit my parking was less than perfect, I was only about 8 yards from the corner of the car park, had to park there 'cos I did not want to block the access to the gates of the Nursery
I know that most HGV drivers are pretty good, and as working men deserve our help in such situations, but occasionally one gets up & puts his hands on where his feet should be.

It's been a lovely day today, so we walked down to the river to see if the salmon were still trying to get up the weir - they weren't, but we did see some Canada geese who seemed to be playing on the weir - going over and down the rapids, and then immediately
flying back to the top again - only to go over once more. I've seen ducks doing this, but never anything as large as a Canada goose! We also saw a goosander, and then further down the river, where we cross to the garden centre, we saw something odd in the river, so OH went to fish it out. It was an A board from a local pub, advertising the new landlord, and a drinks offer - so we pulled
it out, hid it behind the cement pillar of the bridge because it was too heavy to carry far, and then when we walked back into town told the pub landlord where he could find his sign. He was very grateful, as it had been stolen yesterday afternoon whilst
they were actually open, and was alost brand new! When we walked back on a path through some fields, the sun actually felt warm on your face. Back for coffee, and then tonight we're going out to see Bob Flowerdew speaking at our local Gardeners' Association.

Sunny but cold here all day. Spent half the day either up a ladder or crawling in the foundations at the Guide Hall, trying to trace the wires to some lights that had stopped working. Eventually found them and a suspect joint, so remade all the connections and restored power.
Went for lunch, then left OH at Waitrose to shop while I went back to Guide Hall to fit 2 new LED floodlights. Need to go back sometime soon when it is dark to check they are now working correctly.
Returned to pick up OH, she had a £10 off £50 voucher, so did some Christmas present shopping......gin for DIL, sherry and Tia Maria for us, all on special offer.
Just need to resist the temptation to open them before Christmas!

Well we survived the Christmas present shopping for the 2 Gkids in Malta, just need to wrap them up and post off (guess I'll need to go out busking to pay the postage)
The weather was lovely once the mist cleared, nice and sunny with a crisp feeling, Dundee can quite often feel damp but not today. The drive home was great the colours of the trees on Kinnoull hill were a sight to be seen.

What a miserable day, weatherwise. Got loads of small jobs done in town this morning and had a good visit to my Renal Specialist this afternoon. Then came home and cooked our dinner plus 3 meals for MIL for whilst we're away in the van next week, so now
plum tuckered as they say. Even the teeth are beginning to feel slightly better. Must be all those fingers crossed out there. Thanks.0 -
Busy morning at home doing household jobs. U3A church and tea visit to a delightful village church this afternoon. While we were having tea the sky went really dark and we drove home in a hailstorm. Pleased to get home and put the fire on.

A miserable rainy morning at home, had to use brolly for both morning walks. OH did get the ironing done while I was out with Flyte. Better afternoon but still the the odd shower. More research into CLs for the next trip, but still nothing definitely sorted out. Just wish she'd make up her mind where she want to stop so as I can get on and try booking the sites. At least I managed a dry 2 ml walk this afternoon. Hope it's fine tomorrow and I can get some of the outside of the van cleaned before heading off to the dentist. Doubt that I'll feel like doing anything after the visit.

Bright, crisp and cold morning, took the dog across the fields just as the sun was coming up. Watched a paraglider take off from the top if the field , thought I'd like to try that, but he must have been very cold.

Have a good trip Oneputt, we stayed at the new CL next door but one in September, it's a great area.

Freezing cold night last night, coldest so far I would think. This morning its bright and sunny, frost still laying. Been and broke the ice on the bird bath and refilled with water, lots of seed out and birds now busy eating.
Cooking day today, couple of pots of soup, trying a new one, making a curry, chilli and lasagne. Freezer will be almost full then but it gives us meals we can take away with us and for those lazy days not
doing any Christmas stuff as we will be away for it. Will also put together stuff to post to Malta, just waiting for a delivery to finish the presents.0 -
It's our first day back at Worthing today. Actually, it's Findon. Lovely sunny morning after all that rain yesterday. We got back a day earlier because the aircon didn't take long to fix. We had arrived at the Truma factory at 8 a.m. and by 9 a.m. it was
all done.0 -
I got my Christmas present just now. A Gold Star!

Beautiful morning with a hard frost and clear sky creating a very peaceful atmosphere. Everywhere I looked was an absolute picture. Shame my camera was at home when the dog and I enjoyed our morning walk.
Day at home today to catch up with jobs put off for the last few days when out and about
Cheers ... K

Glad you got it fixed sorry you didn't give yourself a few days to explore having made the effort and incurred the cost of getting there. I do hope you're going to stick with the days off as planned. Won't hurt r of you tyo enjoy a day without being at someone's
beck and call.0
