Been out for a meal tonight with Carol and youngest daughter Anna at The Miner's Arms, Mithian.  While we're in Cornwall thought it would be a good idea to make sure Anna has some proper food.  They seem to be existing on pasta
and some sort of sauce with it!!

Back at the caravan now having dropped Anna off at her halls of residence.  Bottle of Prossecco opened!!

    David

How was The Miners, David? We used to go there quite a lot and the food was always very good, then it dipped a bit but we hear it's back to its best. We've only been there once this year, not to eat, but on a scorching hot day in June when we sat out in
the garden after a walk on which we had a slight navigational fracas, but it was worth it for a pint of Tribute!

Happy. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Squeezed in a visit to a local caravan dealers at lunchtime,  now it's "shall we or shan't we? " UndecidedUndecided

    Go for it Helen. Laughing

Thanks, Millie. Difficult decision,  we narrowed the search down at the show, but went to a local dealer for a second look.

What have you narrowed it down to.

AT the show it was a Lunar Quaser or the Elddis Avante   but after a second look at the Quaser we decided we preferred the Elddis, . At the dealers yesterday we looked at the Affinity 554 with the Alde heating which we both really liked. They offered to honour the show deal of a free motor mover too.

Write your comments here...We liked the Elddis vans too at the show. Is the one you have chosen an 8ft. wide model? They look so much more spacious with the extra width.

Unforuntely it turned out to be its' sister caravan....which is why it was so similar. One last digit out on the VIN. It was eiriee how so many distinguishing marks were the same, type, same place. Oh well!

Oooo Helen - how exciting!  Which one?  We have looked at the 8' wide caravans. Much too much trouble to manouver around.  We don't need one that wide either.  Not that we are looking for a new caravan.  We are more than happy with ours.

We quite like The Miner's, Chris.  It's dog friendly too.  We always seem to end up on the table by the bar in the lower bit right next to the kitchen entrance.  The food tends to be good and it's really good that we can take Lizzie in.

We have the Quasar 544, looked at the Elddis, Swift, Bailey but kept going back to the Lunar looks like you have got yourself a good deal though.

Last night we were at The Sage at Gateshead for the Divine Comedy concert . Yes, Ian H - it's Neil Hannon and he did of course do National Express.

The whole gig was brilliant. We had very good seats - first row after the standing bit (which is lower than the stage and stalls, so you can look over people's heads)

His voice was amazing and of course the lyrics are as much a part of the songs as the music. Neil is every bit the showman and performer - dressed in a dapper suit with bowler and umbrella for The Complete Banker and Bang Goes
The Knighthood, and then as Napoleon fot he latter part of the show.

I've waited a long time to see them and it was worth every penny (but the tickets were only £30),

Write your comments here...Bailey don't do 8 ft. wide. However, we find it a very tight squeeze getting past the transverse bed to get to the washroom. The extra width in the new vans seem to overcome that problem but it's the other makes, not Bailey that
    offer this option.

Spent the day making phone calls and on the internet sorting out banking yet again Frown finally got paperwork through from First Direct its
took over 6 weeks to get this far so I phoned them and told them what they could do with it. Have opened new account with own bank (Nationwide) and got a better deal.

Haven't been able to get out in the garden today despite the weather being sunny and dry, bit chilly but that's ok. Went to put boots on yesterday to go and rake leaves up off grass and pulled a muscle in my lower back Yell I
can walk but not bend, I can sit down but have trouble getting up, turning over in bed last night wasn't great either. Still its not the first time its happened I know what to do, couple of days and I should be ok.

H&T congrats on choosing a new van, we've had both Elddis and Lunar vans in the past and been very happy with them.

Keep at it CY - it must be clean before you put it away for winter, do you have a cover for it or will it stay out in all weather?

Or, are you going to get some winter sun?

I have looked it up on the internet. It looks great. Shame about the long wait. You will have to plan your trips for next year to while away the time Helen.

Congratuations H&T, just a pity you have to wait so long for it's delivery. We know what a pain waiting for a new vehicle is like. How close to home is your dealer?

SELL, we were discussing the stop-start on the the Volvos, but I can't find our posts so here's the update. With our XC60 Auto the stop-start is
disabled when we tow with it, which is different from yours from what I remember, so I don't have to maually switch it off when towing.

Hi Helen and Trevor.  If you do manage to get to The Miner's, just a little warning: it does get a bit busy at times and it is a fairly small place.  I always ring up earlier on in the day and book a table.  Just a heads up!

    Best wishes

Nellie think it was in the stop/start thread mine works when towing but i have not bothered to to switch it off. wonder if the manual / auto versions make a difference. Did you get in touch with your dealer to try and sort a manual out.
