It's only half past nine and it's dark already. Gone are the light evenings when I could finish work and still see daylight.

Went over to Drover's Hill N/T car park above Chipping Campden this morning. Walked the Cotwold Way along The Mile Drive to Fish Hill and then onto Broadway Tower and beyond to have a picnic lunch overlooking the Vale of Evesham. Back the same way before driving back to the CL vis Chipping Campden and Broadway Village. The weather was sunny but the wind was quite cool in the shade. Still blowing a bit this evening, but plenty of blue sky to be seen.
Lovely area Nellie, but always so busy, drove back home yesterday through Pershore, looked an interesting little town.
This site should suit you both. Trevor could get his fishing in just along from the site, as it's right on the bank of the Avon at Wyre Piddle. Quiet lane outside which lead to the fields behind Pershore, ideal for walking the dog.

Congratulations to the new parents!
Parents and grandparents are getting older these days, the parents both need to keep working so are putting off having children. We keep telling our daughter she needs to get a move on, she is 31 now.
I was 63 when number 1 grandchild arrived, son and wife had been married 8 years and had almost given up hope of having a baby. They had a second one 4 years later, so their family is now complete.
I am now 73, so we have told her we will soon be too old for supplying childcare if she waits much longer!

thanks again to all for their kind thoughts....
this 'age thing' is interesting....Kjell about same as me when first grandchild arrived....our pals (chap 65, lady 67) both on third marriages....kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren all over the place.....they seem to be a generation ahead of us
in the 'family' tree......0 -
It's a bit like that in our family. Both my slightly older brother and my slightly younger sister are great-grandparents, my sister's GG children are the same age as our youngest GC.
My brother's oldest GD is 9 months older than our daughter, it is very confusing when looking at who are cousins etc!
We also have a 15 year age difference between our son and our daughter, she is often asked if she is her brother's daughter by people who know him slightly!

BB I'm the same age as you and my youngest GC is 7 and the oldest coming on 10 so you're not too far out. My Mum is coming on 90 and has 3 children, 5 GC and 8 GGC. Our children are 5 years out from us as they didn't get married until their late 20's but
they went straight in and had kids while we enjoyed ourselves first0 -
Moved from the Harz Mountains to Winsen Aller by Celle today. Had a drive around Hohne, it's a sad sight, no tank or regimental flags/signs at the front gate and the married quarters to the rear of the camp falling into disrepair
Such a shame Oneputt, our son is now back in the UK but his last overseas post was Fallingbostel. OH served in that area at Hohne, Fallingbostel and Verden in total we spent 11 years there. Schloss Braderbeck (officers mess) Hop House (Co's residence) and the Round house (families Naafi) were great buildings, loved living in that area, Verden was our last overseas post, great horse riding area.

Feeling exhausted after all the moving over the last few days. Still we had excellent weather for tent camping but we're glad to get back to our caravan today.

Sunny and breezy today, another load of washing pegged out, then hit the shops to re stock the fridge, all before work.
Still grappling with auto enrolment and "Nest" registration, but think its all sorted now.
Sorted and booked a break for the BH weekend, back to Upton on Severn. Its the "Sunshine Festival" line up includes Mud, Midge Ure and The Bay City Rollers, remember them?

Well today should have been a dry day but they got it wrong, again. We had planned to cut the hedges (well one of them) however it has rained all day. Tomorrow which was forecast to be raining is now going to be dry (they say) but we have an appointment
for 10am which will take up most of the morning (because it should have been raining) why am I not suprised really think we need to move,
if I live here much longer I'll have web feet can't even get away in the van as we have lots of jobs to do and what's the point anyway when its
raining0 -

A day at CAB.
Went for a walk around town at lunchtime and it was very pleasant and sunny.
(Sorry TG......there was a little bit of light rain this evening though )
sure it wasn't just my tears keep
looking after the sun Ian we will be down at the end of the month0 -
Rubbish weather here too, spent the day shredding old bank statements and scanning and shredding credit card ones....OH is having a paperwork cull!
Figures collated for our tax returns, so OH will get hers sent off tomorrow as she is due a small refund.
My Hammerite for the balcony posts arrived today, so next nice day I can get that done. After that there are the 2 garage doors to sand and paint, and a few other bits to finish.

When are you next off on your travels Kj. We've been emptying the attic of all the rubbish we've collected. Nearly there, we have to make space as the youngest is moving to Malta to live and work for a few years, so wants us to look after a few boxes of
personal. That's on top of ALL his university course work, which is a lot as he did an Arts course.0
