Off to the early service at church this morning. Back and load a few bits in the car and the van. I'm almost ready to roll tomorrow morning or I was until thirty seconds ago. OH has just announced that there is no cereal so off up the shop in a minute.

Glad to hear NZ is going well Bakers2, sounds lovely. H&T you also sound as if your holiday went well, shame it has to come to an end with the good weather now putting in an appearance.
Unfortunately as usual the good weather hasn't managed to make its way north yet! but as always we will wait patiently for it to do so (not) the heating is on as we speak, as its flipping cold here in the house, the weather is very blustery, grey and damp don't
think we will get rich off the solar panels anytime soon. I've got Mum for the day so busy making soup for lunch.0 -

Arrived in Frejus this afternoon - at L'Etoile D'Argens. Spacious pitch but tight access. Expensive site and Internet cost about 8 euros a day. Not sure I will be online very much here. I have some allowance on my 3 network phone, bit don't know how
long that will last before piling on the cost. May just save it for emergency/ family contact, so may not be on that much for this next 10 days. Have fun.David

Well, after yesterday's slight navigational maladroitness, I was trusted with the map again today! Two lovely walks in glorious sunshine at either end of Red Wharf Bay. At the eastern end, approached from a tortuous drive along a very narrow steep downhill
lane, we discovered the beautiful beach at Llandona. If you're ever in the area it's well worth a visit!0 -
If you're down in Lyme Regis at the end of the week there's lots going on with the Red Arrows on Thurs followed by Lifeboat Week with some good family events. One of our daughters is playing her fiddle in a band on the prom. So if your down there throw a penny or two in the band's collecting bucket, it's all for a good cause!

Arrived in Kent at a CS site.......first time of trying one of these and it seems to be.......different, but perfectly fine.
Went into Canterbury this afternoon. Too hot and humid for comfort though.
Had a look at the new Jaguar 4x4 in the Jag showroom there.....not the most spacious and follows the worrying trend towards smaller engines, with a 2 litre diesel.

Well done, Ian. Some of us have been using CLs and CSs for years and there are really some very good ones out there! Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay there and, as a member of both clubs, of course you'll be able to use both!

Not a happy bunny today !!
Willie Fixit came to the Compressor fridge in my van all bright and early. Made me a bit happier !
Then after stripping it out, checking it all over, putting it back together said It was beyond his expertise ! I need a specialist qualified for the refilling & checking of the refrigerant. Gave me a phone number but said " He's very busy, so might be a month before he can do it " Rang him at once and ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, Voice mail !! Now Waiting ( & fretting ) till he calls back ! and if HE cant help it'll be a new fridge ! Modern Technology == pppffffft !
edit
Now my E-mail account don't want to know me !! Even more pppfffft !

Anther dull day here, rain forecast for later, so a second "no windows" day.
Saturday was OK, so got a few windows checked out then.......found another 2 poor ones at the front, so now have to repair them. All the other downstairs ones are fine. Still the upstairs ones to check.
Instead I did some stuff at the Guide Hall yesterday and will go back this afternoon. Have started putting up the 3 mirrors OH chose at Ikea, and started putting back up all the hooks and towel rails.
There is a "Kumon" maths/english class starting back on Wednesday, so need to get quite a bit done before then.
Also doing some wood-turning in the garage in between other stuff, making a walnut quaich and an elm bowl as wedding presents for a young couple we know.
Caravan insurance to be renewed this week, have delegated that to OH.

Thanks Millie, I think they collected over £300 in the bucket last year. I'll be away next week otherwise I'd have been down there too.
Sweltering here in the heat today, had a nice Spanish style tapas lunch, not going to do much today!

Woke up to glorious sunshine this morning so decided to drive up to the RSPB centre at South Stack and walk over Holyhead Mountain for the spectacular views over to the seabird colonies on North Stack. Well, the book says the views are spectacular, but sadly as we approached we could see the whole mountain was shrouded in thick mist and that's just about all we did get a view of. Decided to do the walk anyway having driven up thete and luckily, as we sat having coffee, the sun did break through momentarily so we did at least get a glimpse!
Stopped off at Rhosneigr on the way home for a stroll round the lake and back along yet another beautiful (and almost deserted) beach. All in all, a lovely day out, but feeling knackered now!

We were lucky when we went last year, windy but clear, the views are fantastic. Good to hear you are having a goodles time, Moulesy.

Was up really early, got the van cleaned and back to storage before it got too warm. Son phoned to say he had a fuel leak on
car so needed the drive space for repairs.Washing all pegged out on the line before work too. Nearly melting in the office and paperwork backlog was huge! Will need another holiday when I finally get it sorted!

I've just been looking at my son's instagram offerings (probably not a good idea.... but parents can't resist....) I saw a photo of our dog with 60 likes, all by complete strangers and a photo of my son at Glastonbury, not with one of the musicians but with Basil Brush, that one had received the most likes. !!..

Went to Whitstable this morning. Managed to park in the harbour area (near the fish stalls) and had a walk along the sea front, looking at the (expensive) property.
Then wandered around the town / village. Had lunch (Sainsbury meal deal) sat on the sea front.
Then moved on to Broadstairs, which was very busy and unbearably hot.
Back to caravan and chatted to neighbouring campers, then a nice bottle of cold, sparkling wine sat in the shade, before having our tea.
Lovely!
