We once had to listen to the Edinburgh Tattoo, playing on a C&CC warden's TV in their tent ! I can thoroughly recommend it.
Most definitely a show to visit, Brue !! Watching it on TV does not really show the slope that The Esplanade has ! How they keep in time when counter marching is beyond my { non military } mind
Very difficult for the Scottish dancers aswell, my eldest lad performed at the 1991 Tattoo, that was the year of the 1st Gulf war. They were short of military personel so asked it the Queen Victoria School from Dunblane (sons of scottish servicemen) could take part. The full pipe band and the Scottish dancers all performed every night throughout the Tattoo, they also paraded through Edinburgh on a saturday afternoon, the boys were aged 13 - 17, all gave up 4 weeks of their summer holidays. Still a very proud parent when I watch the video

Just returned from another succesful days fishing ( everyone a bonus at my age). What else did I see The wimberries are just ripening. The Osprey took a good fish about 200 yds away from my boat. Plenty of other like minded people enjoying the peace and
views of the countryside.0 -

Just had the good news that our grandson has been offered a summer job with Warner Music following his internship there this past year. Then back to studies for him for his final year at Uni. There's a fair chance that he might be offered a position at Warners
when he's finished his degree. Fingers crossed.Excellent news Nellie. I wish him well.
David
Thanks David. I'll let him know there are CT members wishing him well.

Well woke up to another beautiful sunny day in deepest Norfolk, took another walk through the village with the dog, picked up yet more goodies from the stalls outside the houses. More jam, veg and even got a fresh homemade apple pie, this time! We
were sorry to have move on this afternoon, but now heading home, now at Cambridge, Cherry Hinton site as had our last B card vouchers to
use up for a freebie weekend!Site a bit different from the last two cls, but plenty if rabbits for the dog to watch. Plan
is to visit the city tomorrow, will be able to compare it with Oxford. We also seem to have left the sunshine in Norfolk, it's turned very cloudy here now. It's a wonder that the van can move with all the goodies you've purchased! Glad that you've had a good trip out. Were both the CLs new ones
to you. Can you let me have their names sometime if they met with your approval. Thanks for the good wishes, too.0 -

We had a few days at Cherry Hinton a few years ago Helen. There is a good bus service into Cambridge from the village and also a park and ride not too far away. I love Cambridge. Kings College Chapel is wonderful, also a walk along The Backs. The Botanical
Gardens are beautiful as well. Hope you have a good day.0 -

Rather dull day with the odd shower. Went to Powis Castle today especially to see the gardens which were as good as ever. Must be one of the best gardens in a NT property. Visted the house in the afternoon. It's just a pity that there's not a lot of grounds
in which to walk Flyte, apart from round the car parking area and up to the Castle. Called in at Tesco in Welshpool on the way back to the van. Heavy clouds about tonight so it's much darker than previous days at this time.0 -

A very drab, miserable day here in Anglesey today.
You've got a week, Moulesy. Just get it sorted, man.

Think I might have it sorted now, CY. Cancelled the wet weather last night and this morning is cloudy but dry and looks settled. Have ordered sunshine for the next few days and that seems to be on the way!

Looks like the weather forecast is hotting up, 28C for Tuesday. We haven't had much rain at all so our veg aren't doing very well. Hope it stays warm when we go away soon, we seem to have followed the sun round this year, a nice change! The schools are starting
to break up, think it's going to be busy down here, the M5 nightmare begins!0 -
Dry here today but quite blustery, not got blue skies yet! still had to put heating on for a couple of hours last night it had gone quite cold with it raining most of the day, I think we've been getting temps around 15c would love to see something around
20cNot up to much today got an eye test at 12.00 then a bit of shopping, if the weather picks up and the wind drops might get out on the bikes for a bit later on.
All those about to go away or are away hope you are enjoying yourselves.

Hope your eye test result is all that you hoped for TG !!
I'm just sitting and listening / watching sport on the TV as I start fretting** about the upcoming attempted repair to my 'vans compressor fridge by Willie Fixit. If he's successful it'll be a scramble then to get the "Family Duties" cleared up and load the motor 'cos it'll be only 3 or 4 sleeps untill I hit the road to the sticky out west bit via the M5
** Already fretting -- taken three goes to do this little post properly and its only Saturday afternoon, with much to occupy my tiny mind but its not working

Thanks Brian, eye test went well no change to right eye, left eye is better than last time. New glasses picked, really like the new frame, even got a discount because I have contacts lense contract with them, back in this afternoon to see lense person who
has adjusted my lense prescription, and hey I can see much better nowHope you get your fridge sorted on Monday, you must be itching to get away, is it a train thingy this time your going to we
are off next weekend on granparent duties heading for Yorkshire, just for a week but it will be nice to be back in the van again and having a rest from the duties back here.0 -
Thankfully, a much better day today ( thanks CY for the boot up the proverbial! Got that weather sorted now!)
But, boy am I in trouble with Mrs M. Suggested what looked like a nice walk ( book suggested 3 hours) but due to a slight cock up on the navigation front it turned into 5 hours, much of which was presumably like it must have been for the GIs trudging through the Mekong delta back in time! Anyway, eventually found our way down the hill, much lifting of dogs over stiles, and down to near Dulas beach - close enough for me to suggest we were exactly in the right place! Didn't go down awfully well.
Fortunately, now back on site, showered and bottle of sparkly stuff open to go with supper. I think I'm kind of forgiven, but haven't had the nerve to say what the plan for tomorrow is yet!

Took the bus into Cambridge, dog not too impressed about being on the bus,but settled down. The city was really busy, masses of foreign tourists. Had a walk along the river, resisted the punting! Did
a bit of window shopping and took in some of the colleges.Found a nice little cafe attached to a church, wonderful home made scones. It got really too warm after lunch so came back to the site for a bit of R&R.
It's back home tomorrow

Glad you've sorted the weather....thanks.
We nearly had a similar problem to yourselves with paths of thick mud, but decided that a measured retreat was the better option. Ended up with a 2.5 hr walk, so got back to the van early. Set to then and got the washer out and all done and dry now. Saves
having to set to and do it tomorrow before we head on over to CC's Much Wenlock site, the last time before it closes for good this year.0 -
We were busy packing this morning for our two night stay away in the tent. So we spent the rest of the morning pitching the tent and getting all our camping gear out. Lovely weather for camping except it got a bit too hot. However, we found a shady spot
under a tree for our relaxers and there was a cool breeze, so comfortable enough! We had our lunch using the picnic table.

Sounds good, Helen, & just down the road from us. But do they allow dogs on the walks?
