We've arrived today at Camping Le Bregoux at Aubignan near Carpentras in N. Provence. It is very warm - 35 degrees - nous sweatons!!
Our pitch is really big. Plenty of room for the caravan, awning and car, with a lot of outside space too. The site has no pool, but work will start on installing a pool in the autumn, for the 2017 season. Excellent news.

Spent an extremely pleasant few hours in the company of NellieTheHooker and his charming wife last night. What a lovely couple.
Today we started to get things ready for our next break, later this week to the Lakes, so lots of small jobs done. Hope the weather improves.
It was great seeing you both last evening. Hopefully we'll meet up again in the not too distant future.
By the looks of it, on Countryfile, the weather should be picking up when you head up God's own county.

Back home after an 'interesting' journey as the A1 was closed at Grantham. Luckily we heard about it in time to turn off at Newark. My dubious map reading skills were luckily up to the task and Mr H said it was a more interesting journeyas he was bored with
the A1 after 3 and a half hours of it
. Everything unpacked and 2 loads of washing done. The garden looks like a jungle

Weather wasn't as bad as forecast here on the Wirral,sunny with a warm wind. Drove over to Parkgate and had a 3.5hr walk along the Wirral Way. Managed to get back to the van in time to see the latter stages of the TdF and before we had a shower of rain.

For most of the day, yesterday, we were travelling in the car so we did have the air con on in the car. It is a little cooler her today, with some cloud - about 24-25 degrees - it feels a little more humid today. We have the fans on in the caravan most of the night, and end up by sleeping on top of the quilt.

Went to MK Hospital today for my 6 month regular check up on my knee. Just about to check in at the desk when voice from behind said Mr DK, it was a nurse from the Orthopedic Department so not only was my appointment on time I was also collected from reception. Good old NHS.
Didn't see the main surgeon today but one of his Registrars. Because I tend to bound into a room like a teenage I think that within 10 seconds he had made up his mind that I am not yet ready for a knee replacement. Margaret would have me go in on my stick dragging my leg behind me just to get them to feel sorry for me!!! If I was honest with myself I don't really think I want to undergo the operation at least not yet. When I had my hip replaced I was in a pretty sorry state and I don't think I have reached that stage yet. Carry on Motorhoming as they say!

Overnight rain has now stopped, still a lot of clouds around and a bit breezy. Can't seem to get motivated today, its too wet to go in the garden, I've already done the bathroom and kitchen and hoovered throughout, washer is on. Its barely 2pm so need to
do something can't sit here all day on CT
I've looked at ferries for next April just need to decide if I want to book them yet
.
Flights are already booked and paid for Lanzarote next March. Think I'll go and play in my craft room for awhile while OH is in his man cave

Left Suffolk at lunchtime, but not before heading to the nursery and farm shop in the village, bought some fresh local veg and eggs. Now on a pretty CL near Aylsham in Norfolk. Out in the sticks down some rather narrow lanes.
Weather is very warm but breezy. Just contemplating where to head to.

Glad to hear that your appointment was on time David. It's with some mixed feeling about the knee replacement. On balance my left knee replacement has had some success - it's not as painful as it was, but, I'm certainly not pain free. I will put off having my right knee done until it gets worse, I think. I've heard many say how successful their knee replacements have been - I guess it varied between one person and another.

We have just returned from a lovely 17 nights away in the van for our main summer holiday. We had 3 nights at Moffat on the way to attend the classic car show which as always was excellent we then moves on and had 12 nights at Looe CC site in Cornwall which
was excellent and we got decent weather so were able to use the on site pool which was great. We had never been to Cornwall before so it was good to explore the cointy chatlestown was a personal favourite as was Looe which was very picturesque. We left Looe
yesterday and spent last night at Blackpool CC just to break the journey a bit. Blackpool site was empty can't beleive it it is normally full in July . We had a nice drive home today now going to get the van cleaned out ready for our next trip away, we are
planning on going away on Friday for 2 nights just somewhere local Loch Lomond possibly. Hope everyone else is enjoying themselves0 -
Weather's been unexpectedly kind to us today. Went for a fabulous walk direct from the site (Lady Margaret's Park) along the canal through Whitehouse tunnel (the shorter of the two) and on across the magnificent Pontcysllte aqueduct. Managed to persuade
the dogs to walk across the towpath there and wow, is that spectacular! Very busy today with lots of boats going to and fro. Came back the same way, accompanying a couple on a narrow boat almost the whole way!
Paid a quick visit to Chirk Castle this afternoon but need to go back later to do it, and the superb gardens, justice.

Regarding yours and DK's knees. Don't do it until you have to. My wifes cousin is a knee surgeon (I'm pretty sure it was knees and not trees) and he tries not to operate until absolutely necessary, a bit like cataracts. Mind you he mention something about
woodworm but I'm sure he was only joking.Hope the holiday goes well and the new caravan and awning behave themselves.

Pretty miserable day here today. Drove over to North Wirral CP and went for a walk along the shore towards New Brighton. Turned round when it started to get dark, but we stil got caught out in a heavy shower, and were so wet that we had to change clothes
in the car. Picnic lunch in the car and another run for Flyte on the beach before popping into Aldi to stock up before we move on tomorrow.0 -
Four loads of washing done and dried thank goodness. Caravan now cleaned and tidied. Car cleaned (although I cheated and took it to our local hand car wash when I went to our local garden centre to get some bird food). Mr H has made a good start on the garden.
At this rate we might be ready to go away again in 4 weeks time. We will be going to Houghton Mill, one of our favourite sites.0 -

When I had the arthroscopy on the knee it was more painful for several months afterwards so having the knee fully replaced is something I will delay until really neccessary. OK I am in pain most days but you do get used to it and some days are better than
others. I am more concerned about the statins I now have to take as they seem to be effecting the knee so will have to dicuss with my own doctor. I am experimenting with taking them everyother day which seems to be making a bit of a difference. It would be
nice to be able to decide the exact time of year for the operation but as I can't afford to go private I will have to wait!!!David

When I had my left knee done, I had a 'sort of' choice. Consultant put me on the waiting list, I then cancelled and told then roughly when I wanted the op. It was within a couple of weeks. Did the same thing with my shoulders.
Once you have done the 'statutory waiting time', there is flexibility. I said I wanted the op in September, so consultant said when to put me on the waiting list for it to come up early August. I referred until September because of holidays. I wanted
it done so that I would be OK for the Christmas round of concerts! Consultants at UHCW were very helpful in getting me to work
through the system.David
