Have a great holiday H&T. Don't think I'm going to get that lazy day after all, OH has gone out to wash and polish my car muttering something along the lines of "are you still on that computer"Surprised Guess
I'd better shake a leg and do something.

Thanks for the comments folks.  We've had an afternoon at Titisee today.  Very warm while walking around, but just a touch cooler now we have got back to the caravan.  Almost time for tea - or rather, beer!!!

Undecided, A bit of ongoing maintenance today ,plus STILL trying to get a 'Stuart Turner' engine  timing correct !!

Is that one of the original two-stroke ones or the diesels that they produced under licence? I had one of the 10HP twin two strokes. Great engine - good agricultural simplicity if a bit thirsty.

Write your comments here...Hmmm, Yes C.Y It's a two pot ,magneto spark induced via a distributor, with a big flywheel to one end.Got it running today by retiming the TDC on number one ,in conjunction with the timing marks on the flywheel."" HOOORAY !!

Lifted a " Drascomb Lugger" out today as the center board had jammed down ,after turning turtle las week ,two stroke outboard submerged too !!

Went for a quiet pint in a 'local',only to be responder in first aid to a very poorly elderly lady, calmed her down ventillated the room ,checked her pulse very clammy and faint,,untill para-medics arrived , ECG showed 160 over 104 ,not good ,but i think
    she will recover o.k .

Well ,,,you never know how the day is going to pan out ,,!!

    Bit of a disaster today.

Henry, the duck that was born here 2 years ago, has 5 of her 6 ducklings left. They came onto our patio for some food this morning.

Later in the day, we heard a commotion down by the stream. Some idiotic woman had let her dog off its lead and it was in the stream. Ducks went in all directions!

We shouted to her to get her dog on a lead......she ignored us and she walked on, with a mobile phone stuck to her ear.

Anyway, Henry was seen later looking for her offspring - clearly they had gotten split up in the panic. Last time we saw her, she still hadn't found them, but we've not seen her for a few hours now. Fingers crossed they get back together!

Why are some people so ignorant of anything outside of the own little world??

Many thanks to all for the "good holiday " wishes, not sure how much Internet I will have  but will look in when I can.

Caravan now packed, ready for the off in the morning! Smile

Ian: really hope Henry finds her chicks or they find her.

IanH, that's awful hope Henry finds her little ones. People on mobile phones do my head in, walking into you out on the street/shops, not looking after their children is the one that really annoys meYell but
when innocent wildlife/animals get hurt that is unforgivable.

Had a great day, went to. Cley marshes visitor. centre plenty of birds including a flock of spoonbills, then on to Blakeney Key really good, saw avocet and chick also pee wit and chick also several redshank protecting nest's,according to NT wardens its been good year for ground nesting birds, as weather has encouraged good grass and weeds to give good cover from predators,

Then on to a big commercial holiday  camp site to check as we are booked in in November with our tourer for a music festival, and talking to the wardens, who had just spoken to someone for speeding on the site, they admitted it was an impossible task as they have not got eyes everyware ,it will be £17 a night +food and entertainment

Did some weeding out front today, almost a full garden bin already!  Loads more weeds out back, plus OH tells me there are still plenty out front that I have missed.  I don't think I will ever enjoy weeding.

At least we have no grass to cut, only gravel to weed.  Sad

OH went out shopping (alone) and to check DD's house and take a set of keys to the in-laws, who live nearby as they will water the 2 containers that we could not bring here.

They then discovered that their son had left his set of keys with them, so they have offered to go round and cut the (very long) grass, if it stops raining long enough.

Tomorrow we are off to see DS, who has requested my help with a small plumbing job.

Will need another holiday soon at this rate.

We have a weather station that sends data to the PC and then onto our  <<website >>

And on Monday I set it up to upload to Weather Underground. It's a world wide site, with 200,000 PWS's (Private Weather Stations). It was amazingly simple to set up, apart from giving us an ID of Sedgwick (of Kendal CC site fame), instead of our vtllage. But the location on the map is correct.

    Have a look here  << click >>

There's a lot of information, not all gleaned from our data. And please don't blame me if the forecast is wrong!

Didn't get my relaxing day yesterday as I hoped, OH washed my car so ended up gardening again! then it was 2 baskets of ironing when the rain came on. Into town to a garage in the afternoon to get my A/C in the car recharged, not bad had it 5 years now and
thats the first time so can't complain.

This morning broke nice and sunny so back out to the garden to do more stuff. OH is fitting a tow bar to my car, while doing so he has noticed that a rear spring has broken, quick phone call and one is on its way, he's now gone to collect it on his trike
and if the rain doesn't stop him he will fit that this afternoon. Wiring of the tow bar electrics will have to wait until tomorrow now, when hopefully it won't be raining.

Took delivery of my new twin tub washer for the van yesterdaySmile  had a good play with it, really pleased with it the spinner is great.

If we're checking the weather before mowing etc, we look at several weather sites, then pick the one we like best. And no one ever believes me!

Not seen any ducks at all today, which is unusual (mind, I've been out much of the day).

We're assuming that they are all keeping out out of the area for a while, after the marauding dog. What we didn't want to see was Henry on her own.

Wink, Picked up the "Stuart Turner" 8Hp, engine with the 'backhoe' of my Case digger today ,and placed it on it's engine mountings in the double
ender boat. Also whilst the Case was out ,lifted an old car transporter trailer out from the undergrowth/overgrowth to be refurbed.Helped cut off a sail that wrapped itself round a prop'.

Hot and sunny all day .Good breeze ,so lots of people 'going ou't on the high tide.
