We've hired a small car for the weekend to tide us over until we can get our car repaired on Tuesday.

Malcolm......you really do not help yourself, do you?

The garage made a mess of the repair, they can't be bothered to fix it for several days.....and yet, you end up forking out for a hire car to fit in with them.

I'm not a betting man, but I would bet good money that you end up paying for the repair.

Write your comments here...The car rental company were supposed to collect us from the site at 12 noon. They got lost and didn't turn up so the boss gave us a lift there. So in the end we didn't get the car until 13:30. I had to pay £81 for the hire until Monday plus £350 deposit.

Hope you told them that you are using the hire car for 'hire or reward' Malcolm.......otherwise the insurance will be invalid.

Very true.  Many people get caught out using their vehicles for business without the necessary insurance.  One lady on a certain television programme was delivering pizzas without insurance.  Wink

Just had to have my caravaning cat of 16yrs put to sleep today severe arthritis in her back and rear legs, injections no longer working,Don't cry. Use left and right arrows to navigate.
Dog walking around wondering why she is not been attackedSad. Use left and right arrows to navigate. However
cant see them suffer. I guess the only option is to look for another companion for my dog so i guess that will be two dogs next time i go out with the van. Life goes on as they say, But she will be missed.

I am so sorry Jeff, the next few days will be difficult but, as you say, we can't let our animals suffer.  We have a 13 1/2 Year old collie who has good and bad days and we know that it won't be long before we have to make that awful decision too.

Sorry to hear Jeffcc's news.Don't cry

We're in for a noisy evening with some nearby outside music and partying going on. Have finished getting the garden ready and the weather finally looks a bit better for Sunday. Earlier on I saw nine helicopters flying over from Yeovilton air day, different
types in a perfect line. Still some overhead flying just now. No peace tonight!

Take care all, put your feet up if you can! Smile

Just knackered meself by driving nonstop for 4 hrs. Massive traffic jam around Oxford on the A40. Took 30 mins to do 1/2 mile. Still, great to be onsite and relaxing, red wine flowing, fish and chips off the van in site entrance. Roll on tomorrow!

Thursday 08.38 we were at Guide Hall to meet contractors, everything seems to be going OK so far.

One toilet pan apparently cracked when they removed it, so we will need 1 new one.

We have 3 cubicles and a good set up, but the walls had not been finished when the original work was done.

So now, instead of tiling, we are having the walls done with "showerwall" or something, certainly easier to keep clean than tiling.

Everything seems to be going OK so far.

Contractors, who we have used several times before, are more like friends, we have recommended them to several people.

They have offered to lay the floor, so I will just go down and "supervise" !!

Been out today and got a few things we need.

Otherwise we have been to DD's house and fetched back her pots/containers to look after.

We already have her 3 budgies back here.

Found myself up too early this morning so went to Tescos first thing. Great. Got home and put everything away. Checked my prescription, which unusually for me I got from Tescos, and found they had short changed me by 20 tablets so back to Tescos. The assistant
decided after much deliberation that it was probably better not to call me a liar so finally gave me the 20 tablets. Half way through the morning found out that I had forgotten the ground almonds! Back to Tescos! Ugly morning. Good news though is that I'm
now on first name terms with staff.

Woken to a glorious early summer morning about time.  Once we've got sorted I think were off to classic motor show at Maldon. Lovely location but not usually our thing suggested by a friend, and its free - so long as I'm not tempted by stalls, its about
all we can afford at present .  Two trips to NZ in months and handing in my notice .

Millie I hope you're having a great time?

    HelenandTrevor enjoy your visit.

Sunny morning here too! I can see a few clouds gathering though, at the moment as I type this. We've had breakfast and I'm now sitting out in the awning with a cup of tea. Our pitch has a tree next to the awning which provides some shade from the sun.

We have 14 more days here before we'll be off on our next 2 day tent camping trip.
