We've been getting ready to go away for our first trip of the year - so exited but a bit apprehensive too. I tore cartilage in my hip earlier this year and getting comfy at night can get a bit of a pain - quite literally Having a weekend in Nottingham
to give the caravan bed a trial run and to catch up with family then on up to North Yorkshire if all goes well. Brue -  if we had been here for the weekend we would have come to see your garden! I love open gardens - we have one regularly in our village.

Hope your trip goes well, and you find the caravan bed comfy!

    Enjoy Smile

Had earmarked today to wash our motorhome after watching the forecast - dry and sunny. Its raining!!!! . Its filthy with nice green bits and black streaks too - unique .  Got a price for 'hand wash' very reasonable BUT they use a pressure washer to rinse
off. We have no damp issues, fingers crossed so not going to risk. Hate having to re-gear my day takes a lot to get ourselves in the right frame of mind to tackle vehicle washing in the first place

Bakers2,  I know what you mean about having to be in the right frame of mind for van washing, ours is filthy too, plenty of black streaks, Sad It's
just getting started that the problem.Laughing

Weve just done SORN so its not like well be using it, we did that whilst it was dirty!  By the time we get back and straight it'll be October and it'll be cool and wet, not likely to inspire washing it.  Naturally its the heat and dryness that is inspiring
us now .  Maybe its just us but we got soaked in the process. So a reasonable day is vital. We used dry wash with good results a couple of years ago, good result - I fear it hasn't been touched since . Fancy admitting to that here

    Do you really think so??

Oh stopped rainning, not cold, and himself has spoken.  Now got to re-pshyce myself. I'd just settled down to do household accounts.

How much excitement can one woman stand???

BB - which area are you in at Sandy Balls?

We were there in May and in the 'Orchards' area.

At New England Bay. No rain so far today! It's bright and sunny, but breezy, so after a very late breakfast (listening to Pop Master on R2) we are sitting in the awning catching up with the News on paper and Ipad.

just been into caravan to put in all the kit taken out when wife cleaned van on return form Yellowcraig, to find half the cooker screws have fallen out and wont retighten!! so looks like a re install day for me!! (modern vans?)  Which reminds me must get
wheels re balanced as i suspect vibration is the cause. Should be a quick fix as long as the Dog stops trying to help!Laughing. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Well the motorhome is gleaming, well compared to before the wash ?. Himself did outside and I did inside.  Weather very showery which meant nature did most of the rinsing off .

Our new storage place is very live and let live, nicest way to describe it.  Wash area which was a plus point as it included electric point and industrial vacuum, the wash area was removed when our previous storage changed hands,  is now lined with totally
wrecked cars, just about able to use the facilities . We are informed that washing area is to be relocated once a broken down motorhome has been removed and other work is finished.  Still at the rate we wash our motorhome I'm sure it'll all be done and dusted
when we next need to use it.

Interestingly we returned home, about 5 miles, sun out and no sign of any rain. Which means we need to cut the grass and tidy garden.  I think we'll sleep well tonight.

Reading how the weather is affecting some ,we have been very lucky in both parts of Norfolk , as if it has rained it was overnight, otherwise its been good, walked into Corner and back yesterday had rock and chips, then went to the end of pier show last night
(very good).   Today weather still good, visited friends near Norwich, now back on site ,off to Sheringham "potty festival" tomorrow

Tasks not jobs as I didn't want to be told off by MM again for mentioning workWink nothing serious we had no rear side lights on the near side.
All the other lights worked fine, wasn't a bulb or fuse so he got underneath to find that the wires going into the connectors had come free, as I said all sorted nowSmile

Glad you got your m/h washed, that's a job I don't get involved in, like you I do inside. H&T we haven't washed  it yet the rain is doing the job for us at the moment Frown

We liked Trebarwith Strand, it's a lovely beach, with a pub on the cliff top. Make sure the tide is out though.

Norfolk does seem to have its own microclimate JVB.

Cromer was the first place we went to with a caravan about 20 years ago (the C&CC site) and we had lovely weather, despite the forecast telling us about heavy rain over most of the country.

Malcolm......you really do not help yourself, do you?

The garage made a mess of the repair, they can't be bothered to fix it for several days.....and yet, you end up forking out for a hire car to fit in with them.

I'm not a betting man, but I would bet good money that you end up paying for the repair.
