If anyone wishes to be brave and get up early (just before dawn) anytime between now and mid-February, and look south (just above the horizon), you will see five planets, with the naked eye.  Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and JupiterHappy

    Well at least dawn's quite late at the moment so there's a chance of seeing this line up.Smile

    I will give it a go but seeing the horizon to the south of us is difficult because of all the houses on our estate.Sad

    Too much light pollution here unless I get in the car and drive down to Southsea and look out over the sea.

    You might just about manage to see Venus as it's usually very bright? I haven't looked yet, dead to the world this morning! We've got plenty of time to catch a view.

    Too cloudy here this morning - I was awake most of the night and  much too early and hoped for a bonus!  Still plenty of time for some clear skies - very much hope to spot them soon.

    I think the end of the month and early Feb will be the best time and the moon probably won't be as bright.Smile

    It too was cloudy here early in the morning. Venus can be seen quite clearly most nights at the moment, even in an area of high light pollution.

    Personally, I didn't think you would see Mercury unless you have a powerful telescopic and you see it as it passes in front of the sun.Undecided

    I was awake just before dawn and couldn't see anything to the south although it might have been cloud - there was clear sky higher up and a very bright something fairly high in the west?

    Scan the sky southeast to southwest. Venus will be the most visible. Our weather forecast is pretty awful tomorrow so we wont be seeing anything until things improve.
