Visited Aldi today at Ashington and in their reduced section there was a waterproof cycling jacket reduce from £20 to £7:50. and overshoes from £7:99 to £3:50. So picked up both and at the till was charge £6:50 for both together. That's what I call a genuine bargain.Laughing

Well might have too, except that I only had a hand basket.Wink They did have a good selection of baragin stuff, but I didn't realise at the time
I was poking through it just how cheap it was. We'd seen the gear the day before so just dropped in on our way back to the caravan from Blyth shore mid afternoon.

Nellie,I'm guessing you're staying at Counrtyside Cottage CL. What do you think of this area that I call home?

Yes we're there. Site's fine, but I'd not call it a CL, more like a basic facility commercial site. We've found plenty to do so far and there would be even more to see in the Spring and Summer, I guess. A dry or frozen ground would let us get some walking
done from the site. Off to see Slag Alice, Seaton Delaval Hall & maybe Tynemouth Priory tomorrow, weather permitting.

Oh yes, plenty to see. Have you been to the nearby Woodhorn Colliery Museum or the Newbiggin Maritime Centre?

We walked from the QEII CP car park round to the Mining Museum but couldn't go round it as we had the dog with us.Haven't been to Newbiggin yet but might head that way tomorrow, it will depend on the weather.

We went to Aldi today and they have good sized microfibre towels for £3.99.  We use them when away in the van as they take up less space and dry quickly.  I have had to buy them from sports shops previously where they are very expensive so I will well pleased.

Write your comments here...Surprised you were able to get them today, Millie. Always thought Aldi specials were Thursdays and Sundays. Have they changed days?

I don't know how anyone can even pick up those microfibre towels.  There were loads in our local ALDI today, and I picked up one.  It set my teeth on edge ......  like other things like eating apples whilst wearing woollen mittens, or sleeping in bri-nylon
orange sheets!  I had to physically throw it back on the pile!

I could no more use one to dry myself with, than chalk on a blackboard!

Looks interesting.  Am I missing something, though?  How did you get advance notice of these special buys - their website only goes up to 10 March? (Don't tell me it was in their advertising leaflet that went straight in the bin!!)Embarassed
