I have absolutely no problems with the CC increasing their prices during peak season and weekends to take advantage of the demand over supply. ---- Good on them, makes perfect business sense.. !
So long as they reduce midweek prices (Monday night through to Thursday night) and reduce non peak season prices to encourage take up of otherwise empty pitches. .
----- A win win situation all round.
Cheers...................K
I don't see a Win for members who both work and weeked

If I remember correctly the last one showed a small profit however all previous statemenst have shown the sites to be running at a loss even though the sites are supposed to be the core business of the CC.

..Our friends (ret wardens) were told by their RM that the club makes most of its money with insurance and travel and sites are now just a sideline?

Perhaps, but a core 'sideline' without which the other proffitable areas would not work.

The Club used to publish detailed accounts with the minutes of the AMM but I have not seen them in detail for at least the last two years. You can view the minutes >here< by going to the bottom of the page and clicking on the year of interest. There are no details with the AGM minutes.

Great tip Michael, found them many thanks. I have been looking at those lodged with Company House!

A quick look they are not as detailed as used to be published, i.e. there is no break down of revenue streams and costs. They look much the same as supplied to Company House.

Is it possible to find out prices before sites go on sale on the 7th? most sites through summer i'm guessing might be more expensive than commercial sites if i take 2 kids and 2 adults into account?
I'm sure you have found the price list by now so Good Luck with your holiday plans/bookings

A very sensible suggestion......

I thought that I'd explained this before, but here goes......
No, we are not forced to pay the high CC site fees.......and that is exactly why we use them less and less and we are finding more non-CC sites to use. Once a company loses customers, it is very hard to get them back.
But my preference would be to still have the option to use CC sites and for them to keep their prices reasonable to enable me (and many others) to chose to do so.
As I have said, the CC are losing the battle against other site organisation and their only answer seems to be to keep putting up prices, to compensate for all the empty pitches. It will be a great shame when they are forced to give up their sites, but it
will happen.Where is the evidence of this doom, gloom and despondency? Some often suggest it in order to support their arguements but I can't find any such evidence only anecdotal assumptions!

Well, just keep accepting increases at 4 or 5 times the rate of inflation, year on year, without complaint and simply accept that the CC will not increase their efficiency at all, Mickey. And keep paying their prices.
But I'm afraid that you will be helping to bring forward the demise of Club sites. Something that I would prefer to avoid.

...Coming from the usual sources, without as usual any real evidence to back it up,and the information coming out of the AGM seems to refute it

Do the club produce figures for each individual site to show which ones are profitable and which are not?

..Not for public/members consuption but all sites have their individual profit/loss,sheets ,I have seen several, and they are an eye opener

JV, are you not a member of the public/member?, if you are then the sheets are obviously open to all

Is it 4 or is it 5 times the rate of inflation? Seems like some are unsure! No indication or evidence whatsoever of a demise in the near future or beyond, just personal speculation. Smoke and mirrors come to mind!
Generally speaking, no and no, although it seems possible to find certain specific and very limited examples which might be so!

To be honest I have no truck with profitable sites supporting the less so. Bigger picture and all that!
But isn't that exactly what makes the club network a network? We probably aren't very likely to use some of the more remote sites, but I wouldn't want to see them lost to the club simply because they're not as profitable as some of the more central ones.

I dont mind the honeypot sites supporting some less profitable ones to keep the network, butthere has to be a line drawn somewhere. I would be interested to know if a certain type of site, or a certain area, is generally a loss maker.

Absolutely right! It's a club and has a different ethos to those commercials we hear of and long may that continue. We have used some of those remote, less used sites on occasions, some are in stunning locations, don't know how profitable or not they are but would not want to see them lost to us members just because they do not make the bucks.

Seems there are several ostriches posting on here.
Anyone who cannot see that continually increasing prices above the competition with no improvement in the offering, must have little or no business experience and refuse to see anything wrong in their favourite company.
Even the stalwart M&S customers have started to see reality eventually......

Ostrich? Can't be me 'cos what I see is improvements, vision for the club ethos and very competative price increases to that seen across the industry in general! Mind you that's just my experience and my opinion!
