I have just been looking through the list of next year's prices, the 20% of sites which have had prices frozen seem to be mainly the £14/no facility ones and those that are more remote, so the Club is not giving much away.

Otherwise it looks like many sites will be around the £30+mark in summer for just 2 adults, which is far to much for us.  Even the pre and post summer prices are way above what we are happy to pay in most cases.

Will be more CLs and no facs. sites for us this year.

To be fair my original post was questioning what the prices would be, as some sitess for next year are already getting booked up, I don't mind waiting till the 7th to book, but it's nice to have an idea how CC and private sites compare so we can make an
informed decision, now the prices have been released we can make a decision, With 2 children I like to make the money stretch as far as possible!

Have you considerd looking for a well located  and equipped (if its important to you) CL, not just some muddy field. When my children were small and even though I was better paid than most  I always considered Club sites expensive and in all honesty the
last places I would offer the children as a "holiday"

When I had young children I often used CLs. Thoroughly enjoyed them. Still used some club sites as well and particularly when on longer holidays but one of our regular sites, once a year was a 9 night stay at Shawsmead near abberaeron which wasthen a non
facility site. We used to use the beach at Cae Bach.

Just sorting out what we are going to book on booking day and I've noticed another sneaky increase over last year. Last year the first May bank holiday Monday was at a lower rate with only the Friday, Saturday and a Sunday at peak. Presumably because folk were going home after the weekend, and it is not a popular day. This was certainly the case this year, I know because we booked to go away that day, rather than over the weekend at peak prices. Looked to doing the same this year, but now the Monday night is classed as peak.???

Easter is very late next year -May Day weekend might still be in the Easter school holidays.

A good thought, but the worst I can find is starting back on the 24th April. So unfortunately I fear it is just another example of peak creep. A  disease endemic within the CC.??? I suppose they might have found a lot this year had an inset day and extended to cover the Monday. However, that was not the case at Troutbeck which was half empty.

I have considered it, were stopping at one on way to St ives, just struggling to find one with good facilities on M5 corridor ideally would like to be within cheddar gorge in the day and the cotswolds, probably is down to me missing a good one with not knowing
the area, would like a site with a good shower, as my wife complains she can't wash her hair in our van!

I see no incentive for the club to change its pricing policies whilst its harshest critics (on here, anyway) continue to pay up and use them anyway! So whose fault are these perceived 5% price increases really?

Undecided. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Might have mentioned it once or twice before, but Tudor Caravan park at Slimbridge might be just the thing for you! Happy

To be honest it does look good and does look good value for money, i'm just a little unsure if we need to stop off somewhere else on way from st ives for a couple of nights to visit cheddar gorge? thinking traffic might be to heavy to return there and back
    in the day?

Think we might be crossing threads here! If you're doing this on the wat back from St Ives, how about a couple of nights near Cheddar ( suggest C&CC site at Priddy if you're a member) then a couple of nights at Slimbridge?

We live roughly half way between the two - if you want a site from which you could reach both, there's Piccadilly Park at Lacock ( lots of interesting places near there)  or Burton Hill at Malmesbury (both have full facilities) but it'd be quite a way to
get to either of the spots you mention.

    Hope that helps. Happy

Hello all, very interesting thread. It certainly seems that everyone wants different things and people's circumstances dictate the value they perceive. We are tied to school hols and weekends, mainly touring as a couple but can have up to four children/teens
in tow... In summer hols and half terms we find Club sites good value compared to other providers as their hikes are proportionately less, but to keep costs down we use CLs a lot (and have stayed on some gems)! We have our favourite small commercials as well
and enjoy choosing from the mixed economy of sites. Cost is a factor when choosing where to stay, but obviously off peak discounts and mid-week offers are irrelevant for us.

I've just had a promo Email from CC. I see that the 'all-in' price for the no-facilities sites has risen again for 2017. It's now £14. At its introduction a short while back it was £10. The past three years have seen rises of 10%, 13.6% and now 12%. Squeeze
them till the pips squeak, I think was the phrase.

Not sure £14 will squeeze many pips. It is the commercial sites at over £40 that do that. You can pay more on a CL.

My price list says the £14 is a price freeze, so I thought it had stayed the same as well.

I think only certain none facility sites were £14 last year, Much Wenlock, Bromyard Downs, Nunnykirk certainly were, and have stayed the same. Marazion is none facility, but was not part of the fixed £14 group. Not sure without looking at price list about
others. I suppose it depends on location and how busy it is likely to be. The whole pricing issue is just boringly complicated to be honest, with all the different shopping about between peak, off peak , low. We only use Club Sites in cheap periods, so I will
just write the total price for us in handbook when it finally arrives!

very disappointed with part season next year at Hawes site. Having enjoyed part season for a few year next year the club have reduced the stay by 17 days [ from 27th Dec to 10th Dec] and increased price by more than the cost of inflation. If the site was
fully occupied over this period I could understand but it never has been.

having also looked at price per night over season with the exception of 12nights in April with a cost of £16 per night and school summer hols and 22nd Dec through new year £29.50 per night the cost ranges between £20 to£24 per night not a great variation
bearing in mind no facilities till July 2017 due to improvements.
