Typical mind other people's business whingeing..I don't like silly flags on poles, endless bbq.ing..flashing twinkly lights on awnings, illuminated grab handles, never ending grass mowing by wardens in short trousers..and motorcara vans...but I shut up and
keep it my self..0 -

Could you consider adding those people who hog the washing up sinks for a good chat whilst doing drying/polishing which could be done back in their van.
..If its as it should be ,all men at the washing up areas ,its one of the few places left where we can have an inteligent conversation without being interupted

That may very well be true but have you truthfully ever seen a man dry up at the sinks.

Yes...I did...once...at Looe...well when I say "dry up" he was coaching his wife on "best practise" - does that count?

Can someone have a word with the wardens about rain hammering on the roof of the caravan at night please.

I have an endless list of dislikes, some I would go as far as saying hates, however it doesn't stop me going away for around 8mths of the year
some of my dislikes are:
Loud Tv's, loud conversations that can be heard 2+ pitches away, unruly dogs and children (not their fault, owners and parents please note) people who cannot follow simple instructions, like arrive after 12.00, or pitch to the peg. Walking across my pitch
will get a look from me that would stop a train (so my kids say) all these things annoy me but don't and won't stop me using sites, if something is that bad I will deal with it.0 -

Absolutely - please can I request it on booking - I love to hear the rain hammering on the roof when I am snug in bed. (OH isnt so keen when he has to go to the block mind you!)

...is this what some have been calling 'hairshirt vanning' in some other threads?....you know, having 'home comforts' with you....
to have to be doing the above (certainly in the rain) seems a bit 'back to basics'........?
Nope - hairshirt caravanning is choosing to use sites with no facilities on the site so OH would have to use the van facilites and I would have to put up with the smells and sounds six inches from my head.

So you still use an outside toilet at home then?

We use a pit at the bottom of the garden, use the toilet for storage.

Sleep the other way round. That should give you a clearance margin of at least five feet.

just curious, but why do you put your head within six inches of the toilet when your OH is using it?
we tend to only have one person in the toilet at once
MH/caravan toilets dont smell (especially when fitted with a SOG chimney) and if your caravan walls are so thin that 'you have to put up with the sounds....' they must be paper thin...
im sure most married couples dont feel the need to be in seperate locations when one is using the loo.....do they?
The bed is transverse - my side is next to the toilet wall with just a little cupboard between me and it, so you can hear far too much!
Any toilet smells when it is being used for solid functions - which is why they arent allowed in the caravan. At home the main bathroom is well away from our bedroom but my son whose bedroom was the other side of the bathroom wall has commented he would never buy a house with the bedroom next to the bathroom having lived with it for his child/teen years.
I hate it in hotel rooms too when the bathroom is just a cut out of the bedroom - unfortunately there isnt an option to go to the block so I have to put up with it - another reason why I prefer the caravan.

Not sure how you'd get on on some of the older small yachts I've sailed in where the loo is bolted down between the two bunks in the forecabin.
You just have to time things for when the rest of the crew are on deck.0 -
I see nothing amazing there.
