Some observations on fellow members this year

Thought I'd start a discussion as the nights draw in

Smokers - I get smoking outside the van/motorhome but don't drop the ends all over the pitch for someone else to pick up

Waste disposal - plan your days so you're not dragging grey waste and water containers about after 10pm noising up the place when some folks are trying to sleep

On a non stormy night do you really have to readjust your awning pegs and rehammer them after 10pm

Do you really need full lights to drive round the site at night - pretty sure dipped will do

That is all

Can't fault any of that........especially the endless hammering of awning pegs.

I dare say they've all happened occasionally, though apart from the fag end problem, I can't say I've noticed any of the others on our visits to club sites this year.

Still the thread opens up yet another opportunity for some to slate fellow members and give the impression that CC sites are the absolute pits! Sad

no boot camp just a bit of respect for fellow campers - I like loud music in the morning doesnt mean I feel obligated to share it with everyone...

can't say I  have been bothered by any too, but driving around with full beams on a dark night on some sites without good lighting seems sensible doesn't it, all the others
may make noise but what harm does the lights do? Rather that than hit someone or something?

Maybe just parked near a service point last time so noticed it more - since starting with the van 18mths ago have used CC sites 95% of the time with only praise for them all and will return to them all so no slagging off of sites just some IMHO poor behaviours

The usual group will tell us that none of this ever happens on CC sites and that everything on them is just perfect......oh it's already happened! Wink

Occasionally see the odd cigarette end. I presume left by accident rather than intent in most cases.

SB, you are expecting fellow campers to change their way of life on site to suit you. I'd just accept because it doesn't happen every day that you get on with your break. The fag end thing is annoying-I agreeHappy

Good to know your experience of club sites has been so good, S. So has ours and, I believe, the vast majority of users. Happy

Not at all - but guessing your house neighbours would say something if you started hammering late at night so whats different on a site?

    Very true.......of course that's true.

To say otherwise is just being argumentative for the sake of it.

In 18 months of touring we've been out Im guessing a larger number of than most and are just back from 2.5 weeks on the road and heading out for another fortnight in 2 weeks. Stayed at non CC sites a couple of time and the CC pitches facilities and wardens so
far have been miles ahead in terms of value for money, cleanliness and warm reception, In the main we've found members to be friendly helpful and chatty - ps not sponsored by CC but should be as I've introduced a number of friends

Come on, Solo, relax. You're on holiday so why let things get to you? Live and let live, eh?

If I found life on site so irksome I would question my method of holidaying and wonder if vanning was really for me.

That is all? That is all!! By jingo it can't be...

What about fairy lights, solar lights, driving too fast, excessive use of electricity by leaving lights on, flags (don't get started on flags!!), leaving hair in sinks, barking dogs, crying and/or screaming children, noisy people after 9pm, ball games, bikes, scooters, wind breakers, quantity and quality of wet washing out to dry, radios too loud, portable bluetooth speakers playing music other than Classic FM (or at a push The Archers), smell of bbq's, wind blowing bbq's the wrong way, early arrivals, late dpeartures, reserving pitches, not being able to reserve pitches, people not making eye contact, people making too much eye contact, doggy poo, doggy poo bags, lack of doggy poo bags...

    Have I forgotten anything?

Really sorry if I have, I'm usually too zoned out to notice and have to read all these threads to find out what doesn't make me happy Tongue Out
