If we're harping on about kids on their bikes going the correct way on one way sections, can we also expect the adults driving the motorhomes to comply too? I've seen them go the wrong way a few times so they can take on or get rid of water .... the alternative being to leave the site & come back on again ..... crap site layout isn't their making, but if rules are rules.....

..But they are caravan club sites a lot were opened decades ago when m/vans were a twinkle in most manufacturers design teams eyes, and the MVsp has since been fitted where it was easy access to drainsWink

I cannot believe that some people are attacking and trying to make fun of Briang for having the audacity to not want some out of control kid to damage his (very nice) car.

    Shame on you.......

We did this once - the warden told us to and opened the 'in' barrier for us to go out of  We felt really guilty and got some very hard stares from other caravanners!

PS - I drive a Land Cruiser too......

This is why i want to keep my Landcruiser in the condition i bought it in, no kids riding bikes around Caravan Club Sites. I don't want kids anywhere near my pride and joy. As i said earlier in the thread i paid a lot of money for my Landcruiser and i don't
want it mark in any way. So keep your kids away from my Caravan and Landcruiser.

Sorry I think I missed what type of car you have.  Could you say it just once more?

TOYOTA LANDCRUISER LC4 to be precise.Happy

Is it .. you hadn't said (so far on this page)

It is very sad that by the time this item has got to page 29 it all comes down to who can get the last word in and throwing snide comments at fellow members! For heavens sake grow up and behave like adults!

Are you saying that if the warden tells you to go around the site the wrong way for a particular reason you would ignore them?

Ian - you do like to overstate things, don't you. Did you think I was "attacking" Brian or "making fun" of him? Really? Because oddly enough, he didn't appear to think so himself (and if he did, I would of course had made it clear that it wasn't the case.)

Do stop trying to stir up bad feeling where none exists! Happy

Moulesy, I do get fed up of seeing certain posters 'gang up' on others who hold a different view to them. It happens far too often on here.

Unfortunately, you are often one of the culprits, I'm afraid (as you clearly recognise yourself by your response, because I didn't name anyone).

Ian, having a different view does not make one a gang member and if you can point out a single instance where I've "jumped on a bandwagon" I'd be interested to see you quote it. I'm sure Brian is quite capable of speaking for himself. As I said, don't try
to stir up bad feelings where none exist. It's one of the reasons so many threads run into trouble!

And remember, it's just a forum, not real life!

Fair enough, Ian, and if you could stop accusing folk of "ganging up" or "bullying" simply because they express a common view (though different to yours) that would also help things run smoothly.

Shall we leave it there? Happy

We have gone off course here I think.

Cycles on site - in my opinion they are fine as long as who ever is using them remains within the CC rules.

I do believe that people on here should stand back and take a look at the remarks being made and from someone of the outside looks on here they will see a lot of bickering. new members will see it and quite rightly think that there is alot of animosity,
    so i will not partake.

And that is not stirring things up that is someone trying to put a lid on things!

Don't you realise, IBH, that by posting you are actually continuing the cycle (no pun intended)?

CT is indeed an appalling shop window for CC but I don't see CC or management being very bothered about it.

     .....
Any one- way system signs should be observed by all vehicles and cycles.  ...

Can you honestly say that if you were at the start of a one way system and to leave the site you had the option of cycling all the way round the site or cycling a few feet the wrong way, that you would go the long way round?

Write your comments here...If its only a few feet to the entrance then you can walk to the correct side and mount the cycle there. Therefore keeping to the site rules and upsetting nobody. (If that's possible)!

Surely our sites one-way system is only there to facilitate on site traffic flow?

Not there as a safety related issue as at the most the vehicle speed is 5 mph, a brisk walking pace so giving plenty of time to make visual contact and achieve the stopping distance. Just not viable for traffic management.

I have not the slightest hang up cycling what is being suggested as the wrong way round just in the same conceptual way as I would walk the wrong way round without giving it another thought. There will be enough room to pass or facilitate by moving aside for a vehicle moving towards me without issues. But then I am a person still both able to see and be aware of what I am doing, when those are gone I doubt I will be driving to tow there anyway.

Children need socialising to enable them to grow into confident members of our society. I've seen attacks on Children who are spending too much time on computers(on this very forum) whereas on CC sites you have the perfect situation where they can have a
degree of freedom in a relatively safe environment. The onus on safety is on our(Adults) shoulders to help that growth in a positive way. If a cycling Child bumped into me the first of my priorites would be their welfare-not any possible damage to my belongings.
It's a sad state of affairs when money is put before a Childs welfare & happiness. Too many folk have a selfish attitude to others childhood, our time is gone, others are just beginning.

How many cars can you honestly say drive around sites at 5mph.  I only saw 1 on a recent stay at a CC site and that was mine much to the annoyance of the vehicles following us.
