Serviced pitches

I think the "operator" in the RV may have done so and I guess was not very popular after the event . It would seem that the UK is not geared up for that type of system.
...How about "over there?"
It was about 15 years ago when we hired one, but yes very geared up. We were told to make sure the black waste was securely located and then open it quickly, as you wanted to get as much out as possible, and doing this insured that. I assume the orifices were ventilated, as we never had any blow back
That is the US of A by the way

I think the only m/vans with black tanks are normally the US built RVs who not like EU built m/vans ,are Designed with a proper system of emptying their waste into the drainage systems
no, many high end euro cans have black tanks, many with a cassette, too...I believe.the owner can dump the cassette into the black tank (exit hatch in bottom of cassette) or choose to use the cassette as normal...
as usual, nothing to do with the poorly designed cc MHSP
..Of course it is only the cc that is wrong then is it? but as stated it is only a few that expect large sums of club funds to be spent for them as it seems most can use them, some one posted that a New Morris Leasure site had a MVSP that was difficult for some
Its the same as some cannot reverse their outfits, but they use their own money to modify said outfits to cater for the problem rather than expect the site owners to cater for them

Sonner than you think the time will come when communal facilities for the discharge of bodily fluids and washing of the body will be prohibited due to risk of cross-contamination, so FULLY serviced pitches will be the norm, possibly with the coupling up
being done by a warder in a hazmat suit. How many pitches could be added by demolishing one of the standard design CC ablutions blocks?

...About two, but of course it will not even be in our grandsprogs lifetime

I wonder what that might look like? An additional rear-facing driving position as seen on the trailers for conveying large indivisible loads perhaps?

When we had one other than the first time we dropped the tanks which was a disaster because I hadnt attached the pipe correctly and we hadnt expected the tank to be full so ended up with the discharge of someone elses black waste went all over our drive we never had any smell or splashback at all and used lots of CC sites. Lift the manhole, put the into the hole, the black tank slider opened and dumped in a few minutes followed by the grey to rinse the pipe. Very rarely any evidence at all left to rinse away with the hose and never anything splashed out of the hole at all.
Once I dropped a bottle of zoflora down the toilet. We werent sure if it had gone right through or if it was going to block up the system so we needed to find out where it was. I had to buy a colander and when we went to dump I had to sit by the dump point in my rubber gloves with the pipe discharging into the colander. It did come through - although I did get some strange looks! And I did bin the colander straight after - just hope no one recycled it out of the dustbin.

no, its not just the cc that have bad MHSP....
however, more modern commercials and even the 'holiday camps' have learnt from the continent and can get it right.
it costs the same to design something poorly as it does to do it right...first time.....
the thing is, the club have admitted that they can 'improve' on their 'design' (manhole with solid cover) and had even shown an example of what they were proposing....
...an across the road grille whereby a van with its dump tap anywhere could be accommodated.
the daft bit was when the club then said this was part of a 20 yr roll out
...So soon? it might be that they are waiting to see if M/van designers can get real and put proper outlets on

A very good example of a MHSP is to be found at Bunree in Scotland, it is right outside the toilet block, one of the best i have seen, as stated it is a narrowish gully more than the width of the widest motorhome, covered in very heavy duty galvanised metal mesh, this started out as a standard manhole cover type, i know because i visited before and after. Not very hard to achieve, and didnt cost very much i shouldnt think. And didnt involve digging up half the site to install pipework to pitches.
The Warden at the time was a motorhomer his-self so understood what was required, refreshing. And much appreciated, thankyou.
An outfit can be someones Motorhome too !

Both Cheshire Oaks and Freshwater East have the new style MHSP grills. Just a coincidence that I have stayed on both this year of course. Proved very easy to use and a great advance on the old design.

...Are these " new" MVSPs in the same position as the ones they "replace?" as on the site next to where we store our c/van ,the m/van point is really easy access and a few years ago the Two covers were replaced by grills, but after a woman in high heels broke her ankle crossing them, and the club then payed out her "claim",the solid covers were put back as is still the case, the other problem was people not rinsing after use which resulted in "debris"still on show

..Outfit is a plural ie more than one piece, there are not many outfit m/vans

This topic seems to have drifted somewhat. If someone wants to use a serviced pitch and not make full use of the facility, I cannot for the life of me see why it should bother anyone else.
I suggest a new topic is started about types of pitches and services on site

I think that if you do more research you wil find outfit is singular!

Cheshire Oaks is in same place - road is pretty wide there. I think you would have to make a determined attempt to walk over that grill.
At Freshwater they have moved the point from outside one loo block, where the road was narrow and there was always a road block when in use, to outside the other where there is more space.
