I think from comments on this and other threads that the CC already have sufficient data in this respect. However, it is not us minority on CT that will influence pricing, it is how full the sites are, and at the moment at peak times they are full to oversubscribed.
This would suggest they have peak prices about right, or possibly a bit low.

It may assist the CC in their decision making for the next round of price rises if members would indicate what would be " a step too far"

I look to forward to Cornersteady's reply in particular  Happy

If ever there was a suggestion for a topic which would cause division and disagreement, this is it. Well done, A. Glad to see you've not lost your touch.Winking

..With respect I disagree. The reason why sites are oversubscribed at peak periods is because while the CC have been successful in marketing their goods and services resulting in a large increase in members, They have however neglected to provide the additional sites and pitches that the same increase in membership requires. Hence the shortfall. !!

    Cool

the step too far is when I don't think it's worth it anymore, pure and simple.  Like SteveL said, compalining about things you have to have (fuel, food, heating... ) is one thing but no is forced to use to use club sites, are they? If they are too expensive
for you go somewhere else, it really is that simple

Which is what I am doing. Currently planning a tour of Wales and only one "non facs" CC site will get my custom.

" I have noticed that both myself and the original poster have been roundly attacked by the CC fan club daring to have our own opinions"

Just a touch over-sensitive isn't it Ian? What exactly constitutes an "attack" rather than a difference of opinion? Which posts do you recognise as an "attack"?

Fair play to K, though, TW. He did add in "all 5 of you" after my post, otherwise I guess folk might have thought he was referring to the "vast majority"! Laughing

Tje peak prices may be too low. Bear in mind some of the commerials post their charges as "up to 6 people" per booking all at the same price. As I dnt use CC at peak have not done any comparison. However as an " off peaker"the club prices are wildly out
of kilter with the others. So much so that the last time we used a CC site was in January. Lady MargaretChirk and the occupancy during our 3 day stay was 8 vehilcles on a 73 pitch site. My guess is that the tea drinkers at HO

will not change their system but will close more sites in Winter. They will not be proved wrong.

Surely 'you lot' has to mean more than 5 when such a huge majority held the same view? Undecided

Has there been a reply to AlanAlde's question at the top of page seven ???. Or have I just not seen it yet ???.

I for one would be very interested in the answer.

Noone is prepared to say if another £5/10/15  per night would force them to look elsewhere

Well, my answer to Alan's question is that CC prices should come down next year.

    Anything other would be unacceptable.

As regards site fees in general, This is not intended to be an answer to Alan's question.  The CC should   IMO react to market forces !!

The CC off season prices should be greatly reduced to encourage take up of otherwise empty pitches. Much better to have some income than no income at all.

The High season prices should be increased to maximise income at a time when there is over demand  and by doing so minimise that over demand for pitches at that time.

At the year end,  the CC's income would not suffer  in the least. It would most likely show an increase of income.

I doubt that the charges during January are the reason fr so few vans. Most folk stay home then. My last trip of the year is usually 10-12 nights over Christmas until around 29th December. We never go away January and usually not before April. Even for free I doubt that I would go to the majority of sites at that time

We are having a seven night stay in Cornwall for £80, followed by another four nights in Devon for below £45. One of these stops interestingly enough is a Club Site, with facilities. The other is a very nice CL. Nothing for us to complain about there, either
CL or Club Site. Late June/ July as well. I call that pretty darn good value!Happy We could do it cheaper, but intend watching TdeF and some
footie, so need hook up up for TV, a rarity for us.

OK, Alan, here's an answer for you. Regardless of price rises, we wouldn't pay more than £20 off peak ( 2 adults & 2 dogs) or more than £25 in high season. Very often, of course, we pay considerably less. How's that? Happy

k, I think if you take a good look at the CC's across the range price policy, you will in fact notice that the Club does in fact offer substantially lower prices in the off season, including a range of discount incentives as well. It also has (in my opinion)
very expensive peak time charges at busy times. So they are in fact doing exactly what you suggest they should do. From a purely personal perspective, I still don't think they have got it totally right, as the less busy sites still have mid week spare capacity,
but at the moment, allowing heavily discounted, last minute, mid week pitches, even at peak times is a step too far for the Club. If it did, we would make more use of Club Sites at this time, but I am not stupid enough to roll up at 8pm and then leave at 10am
and be charged somewhere in region of £25+ for the privilege of staying, even with a shower! Not when I can reliably find it at the same standard for £10/12 a night cheaper!

The clubs prices are excessive, to say they offer discounts in off peak doesnt help when the price bar is so high.

I have had a quick look at 3 CC sites in Cornwall, Looe, Marizion, and Treamble at Perranporth, all have vacancies this July and August, isn't that testament to what members are thinking?

I'm looking at insurance products from the club, and maybe if I join possible CL use, cant imagine we would ever use CC owned sites.

Marazion is a non-facility site so not popular with families. Hence, it often has space at peak time but it is a reasonably priced site so is a poor example to use to illustrate your point.
