I assume the location search is part of the mapping data. Don't know who supplied this but it looks nothing like Google Maps or Bing Maps. Both produce UK result if you just search on "Norfolk" and are in fact more accurate in road detail.

This is one of the "fixes" happening at the moment Peedee, people are struggling with the present location search. It will be interesting to see what the improvements are like but we certainly didn't need a worldwide search engine for uk locations, very frustrating.

edit I certainly wouldn't be looking for the full address of Norfolk County Hospital which is the first name on the Norfolk search list followed by every Norfolk in the US of A!

I have just spotted this on Trust Pilot posted in response to a complaint. It definitely indicates the Club is going to be introducing flexible pricing!

"The new system allows the Club to offer more flexible prices to members - in future this will allow the Club to potentially set lower annual price increases than it currently does to pitch, adult and child prices; and allows prices to increase by a small amount where booking volumes are higher than expected, or, for later bookings."

Not sure whether this will be a good or a bad thing, probably bad for popular sites.

I find it disgusting that we have to go to a third party web site for the detail of what is going on. Makes you think why bother with CT.

Well Peedee at least we hear from each other what is happening without too much interference from outside.

Have to say the club have always been able to change pricing as part of their T&Cs but  this latest information is the "dynamic" pricing referred to previously on here but we hadn't seen any official confirmation.

Yes of course, the Club should inform the CAMC members!

I don’t see that at all TDA. If by proper touring you mean what we do in France, then dynamic pricing may well be to your advantage. If you are only booking a site the night or a few nights before, you are hardly likely to default and incur penalties and on less popular sites may pick up a pitch at a discount.

On the other hand if you tour as we do in this country, there is of course the risk of incurring financial penalties if you change / cancel anything. In the past the club has been taking the risk. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. However, there has always been a risk with many other providers, the CC has just swung into line and won’t be getting as much of our business as a consequence.

If you speak to site staff it is obvious this club is two separate parts

    • There is EGH where poor decisions and nil communication to members is it seems is obviously carried out
    • Then there is the coal face sites  and staff who have to try to keep the sites network and members on side because of what the next problems that comes out of the aboves decisions

I think they struck it lucky in a staycation year.

Have just read quite a few of the TP posts , ouch I bet CMC wish they could delete at least 99.9%  of them . Speaks volumes when CMC staff cannot agree on the DOB debacle, one saying it's because they are using the continental computer package , another saying it's so they can charge accordingly. I know which one I believe.!!.

Interesting that you were/are aware of some booking every weekend as that does not seem to be what site staff have found  ,  I think they are more in tune with bookings than others undecided

We don't know what the Club's pricing will be like. I canot see sites being as full next year as this year on two counts. One the staycation will be well and truly over for those who can afford otherwise and the cost of living will really hurt many so It could well result in more availability which could drive prices down. What ever happens, the Club with a flexible pricing policy now appears to in a position to deal with it.

For the motorcaravan owner wanting a short stay and not making full use of a pitch, the Club will still unlikely to  be a cheap option but the introduction of more economy pitches or electric metering might make such visits more palatable. The latter might really put the cat among the pigeons.sealed

What ever SPIN this club wants to put on how the latest booking debacle is working,?it will be IMHO completely overshadowed by the cost of living crisis we are now in,  and in many households what comes first ?surprised

I think  we should  all put our reviews on TripAdvisor,  that way you get a more or less instant reply from CAMC, I know the reply is mostly a load of bull, but at least you know it has been read.🤨

Are the replies on Trip Advisor not mostly generated by a robot . . . ?

I think we truly don’t care any more PD. Even if the Club does more eco pitches, or metering, they will still not be as good value as Britstops, most CLs or a good deal of small private sites. Different touring models, but all we need. Happy to leave Club Sites to those who like them🙂
