Full agreements with all your posts TimboC. Club sites are better all round no doubt to me.

But in case you're wondering why all the replies to your very simple idea - that if one feel differently then that is fine and everyone should choose which they think is best for them, it's because that doesn't rest well with some posters.

You see there have been posts like club sites are only full because people on them don't know there are better sites out there, we are paying silly ridiculous prices and in paying them we are being robbed (daylight robbery). They have to makes jokes about a premium service and put it is speech marks as surely your view cannot be true?

(btw all those words in italics have been posted)

Now while people are certainly entitled to post these things they post it as the truth, maybe their truth but not the truth. Those that like club sites must be wrong somehow and we have to be educated and told time and time again that we are wrong, we cannot be right and simply saying as you and I do that everyone makes their own choices is just not good enough. Our views are not to be respected sadly.

But those that use club sites have the last laugh,as you say we stay on great sites and reasonable prices (now to prove my point watch the remarks to that and other remarks about club sites?)

I don't use CAMC sites as I witnessed a neighbour getting the the exact opposite of 'premium service' a couple of months back.

This was the final straw alongside the ever rising prices, the change in arrival times and the lip service paid to the "...and Motorhome" name change. I stay with CAMC for the use of CLs..nothing more.

im happy you are satisfied but it seems a couple of posters didn't share your views on the Malvern comparison nor for Salisbury, but that's what debate is about.

However, enjoy your 'Premier Inn' holidays...

Yes, QED, hence we prefer the Langham, Cliveden or even the Ritz😉

we've got a 'Premier Inn' just down the road....went in once, actually ordered a meal there, we walked out...QED.

That is so just off topic BB I don't know where to start? Also why would your use of a premier Inn be a QED to anything about club sites? undecided

Still, as you said we have to educated about why club sites being full as we don't know there's better out there

Now I'll stick to the OP.

Thank you. I will. I have 4 weeks booked for the remainder of this year, 6 weeks next spring and another 6 next Autumn when the system allows.

I began caravanning with my parents at aged 12. I'm now 62, and having the time of my life.  CC and CAMC have been there throughout, and I have stayed at some stunning locations. I have met some wonderful, kind and friendly people,as well as professional, compassionate and motivated wardens (not everywhere, mind!)

Its very easy to be a keyboard warrior, and I think some people are very unfair. Its usually the ones who have their post Deleted User, but I am happy to stand up and support this club, despite all its failings. Looking around, a lot of people agree with me

I can’t for the life of me see why someone would want to start knocking the club and it’s sites big time in a thread dedicated to a different issue but, hey-ho, it’s par for the course in some quarters.

Irrespective of one’s site/club preferences, it doesn’t make good business sense to offer half the membership package as several of us have already detailed.

Yes. However only insofar as a reduced price digital membership, as with the C&CC.
Although given comments on CT of late it is possible they rather hope to achieve this for everyone without any form of reduction.☹️

Yes +1 there, although I don't see that as a two tier membership the only thing 'lost' is the magazine which is still available?

And yes that option is there already, at no loss to the club, so if they weren't thinking about it already...

Actually I can see a time when having a card will be by request. I'm not sure about the CCC is the membership card still issued for digital membership? I mean that could certainly reduce costs, all that printing and postage?

Yes you still get a membership card but no magazine (although available online) or site directory. As our CAMC one sits on the bookshelf for two years, we don’t find that an obstacle.

And neither would I, and would certainly welcome a reduction for having a digital card.

There'll still be dinosaurs like me that want a card as some C.L. owners still ask to see them, although not as many as there should be.

I do wonder if people who want a two tier system think about what else could be two tiered. Size of unit? Dog only area? Adult only area? Motorhome only area? etc. Once you open that can of worms you'll never get it back in.

Many years ago we were put onto a pitch that was postage size because we had a smallish caravan. It was an AS site in Shropshire. There were more spacious pitches available but owners wouldn't budge (so we weren't able to either). Never been back and never will.

I wonder if people who want a two tier system would go in to a pub and demand cheaper beer on the basis that they never eat there, and don't see why they should contribute to the cost of the kitchen?

PS. Lots of posts removed. Did things get lively last night?

Good analogy. I’ll add - even though they know the kitchen subsidises the whole pub and therefore benefits every customer.

Perhaps the site owner/warden knew there were bigger outfits on the way & were setting the "more spacious pitches" aside for them.

    2 points, EM.

    1. Those pitches remained vacant throughout our weekend stay.

    2. My site fee was exactly the same regardless of size of pitch so I was discriminated against. A 2 tier system existed.

Don't want one for CAMC. I pay the same for a pitcha as a TA or a Trailer tent and am content for it to remain so.

Perhaps the site owner felt they'd have lost a fee from a larger outfit that turned up for a week after you'd left if you had the larger pitch. Let the owner/warden manage his/her site.

I'm not interested in "Perhaps this or perhaps that" scenarios. All suppositions.

I'm just telling you I didn't ruddy well like it and they (a company) can do whatever they please nowadays as I'll not be going back.
