Blue Badge Registered Disabled .
I am Blue Badge Registered Disabled and struggling to get a hard standing pitch since they have changed booking procedures to Standard Pitch on some sites where there used to be a choice.

You need to ring the warden and ask for what you need.
It has already been explained that the booking system has not changed.

Not sure where you get the idea that choice of pitch has changed?
My OH now has mobility problems no blue badge needed yet? ,and have found a call to the site will get a pitch as near as possilbe to facilities ,so i would think the same would apply if a hardstand is reqiured

Keep trying maybe, leave a message, complain to HQ.....
I'm not unsympathetic but there are things you can do.

Does the site not put on an answering machine when they are busy?
OH left a message on one we were going to when they said they would ring back, but we heard nothing. Left it a couple of days then rang again at a time we reckoned they might be in the office and got through. They had got her message and would set aside a pitch. They did not say why they had not rung back.
I would try first thing, 9am, or just before the earliest arrival time, or early afternoon.

We did try first thing. Got a call back to be told they could not help, but advised to turn up for twelve o clock for a better chance.
If get grass pitch they would try and let us change next day.
when you have a heart condition and other pre existing changing pitches can become stressful causing angina attack. Brilliant Eh.

That does not sound like the normal helpful club warden response, which site is this? OH has never had a problem with requesting a pitch close to the disabled facilities.
What happens in her case is that a warden will go out on the day of our arrival and put a cone or other marker on the pitch that best matches your request. Sometimes they do it further ahead, depends how busy the site is.
You are free to select a different pitch if you prefer.

I sympathise with your situation, but it would seem the current club processes and procedures do not suit your needs. Maybe think about booking the pitch that suits your needs at a site that allows it and take the added stress out of your situation.
Good luck with your future trips.

I think they're twins, Kj 😀

I agree with JVB, any time OH has rung a site to request a pitch close to the disabled facilities, she has always had a good response, and an undertaking that they will do their best.
Many years back, maybe up till around 2001, there was a box on the on line booking form where you could enter such special requests, though the undertaking was that the warden would do their best.....i.e.no guarantees.
This was removed without notice as apparently "disabled members did not like being allocated pitches right beside the toilets or being identified as disabled by the use of the little wheelchair sign". A retrograde step IMO.
So now you have to ring every site ahead of your arrival to make your request, though the undertaking is still the same....that the warden will do their best.
Wardens are not allowed to question you regarding your disability, and members need to be aware that not all disabilities are visible. My OH does not look disabled, but a long standing medical condition, and a more recent shoulder replacement means that she needs help with showering, so she politely asks if we could possibly have a pitch close to the disabled facilities, and wardens are always helpful.
We do not need a hardstanding, though we prefer one, but pitches close to the block are usually hardstandings. If you do need a HS, but not necessarily near the facilities then that would be your request.
A few sites have "disabled pitches" set aside permanently, but most will allocate you a pitch from what is available on the day you arrive, or possibly a day or two ahead of that at busy periods. You can choose a different pitch if you prefer.
I would be amazed if a CAMC warden refused to try to accommodate your request.

Think you are getting the CMHC site booking system mixed up with the CCC

Apologies if this sounds unsympathetic , it isn't meant to be . Surely if you suffer from a heart condition that warrants a blue badge , wouldn't it be safer to use a FS pitch as lugging water containers around will do you no good at all . All of the ones I've come across are on Hardstandings.

Evening
I echo your last sentence kjell. I must say I'm rather offended by chrystall's post above. In my 12 years with the club I've never come across or know of a staff member who wouldn't do their upmost to help out.

Must be changed days, we have been to Gowerton, the very helpful warden had even set aside 2 pitches for us to choose from, and reminded us that we could still choose a different one if we wished.
I can only reiterate that we have always had a pitch reserved when we have requested it.

I am registered disabled ,due to an accident i had at work ,but as yet have never chosen to used it
The accident requiring a time in hospital and an operation ,8 months of work ,and over a year of physio
However from my experience, i have seen member who have claimed they are disabled, but from what i have seen a number of times, their claim was questionable, to be diplomatic
A question how does the Club verify a members claim, they are disabled ?0 -
"A question how does the Club verify a members claim, they are disabled ?"
Does it need saying that not all disabilities are visible? The club, if I always understood it when we were members, does not "verify" member's "claims" and nor should they (IMHO).

You are not alone with the first part of your post, but with several operations
I understand no commercial organisation this club included ,is allowed to question the reason any person is disabled ,
Not all disabilites are obvious

Even in the days of wardens issuing keys to the disabled facilities, they were not permitted to question the user's need. It would be an invasion of privacy.
As Moulsey said, not all disabilities are visible and, as one affected, I can tell you it can cause great upset and offence when aspersions are cast on the validity of a request, or of one's use of disabled facilities.
People shouldn't be so quick to question or judge!
