I wouldn’t base your response upon the simple fact you have found a Site that isn’t a Club based. Many private and commercial Sites are very busy, I know that two we considered hadn’t got the dates we needed.

Don't forget that a good few none Club Sites are operating without opening facilities as well, which will put off many tourers. It’s one of the reasons we have made sure we are ready to do a full ten days without hook up if needs be.

Most of the Club Sites/AS Sites we prefer aren’t open this year, so you have fewer pitches catering for a vastly increased home based Membership.

Price isn’t such a deal breaker for us either this time out, given the circumstances. Although £7 for our overnight stay in a gorgeous location fits the bill nicely😁 We might have to pay as much as £15 per night possibly.............🤣

We are booked at Malvern on the CAMC site, but thinking of swapping to the CCC site next door as there is a good saving to be made.

OH started a booking, works out at just over £15 Per night, did not proceed to payment as we are not ready to decide yet, but was no problem  up to that point, what bit of the booking process is there a problem with?

Not sure about that. Not always easy to book onto  commercial sites at the moment either. However, maybe some don’t have the imagination to look beyond what they always do, so takes some pressure off other options?

Did you have to pay a deposit? I have just checked the two commercial sites I have used earlier this year. Niether have vacancies for the next two weeks but thereafter they have either because deposits are required or the season is drawing to a close for many?

Even if there was a saving my personal choice would be the more open CAMC site with it's views of the Malvern Hills! CAMC are doing a mid week discount there.

I don't find any difficulty booking with the C&CC either but it pays to look up their "offers" first and get the codes needed for extra reductions on some sites.

Our bookings are less with CAMC and more with C&CC at the end of this month onwards into October mainly because the sites are where we want to be.

PS. We passed sites on the Dorset coast yesterday that were by no means full, as others have said try a few others rather than just the club sites, plenty to choose from in some really nice spots.

Booking next year might not be such a problem after all!

I was talking to a neighbour just back from holiday yesterday - family with 2 children 10 and 8. When their all inclusive holiday to Tenerife was cancelled he went out and bought a 1 year old TA 6 berth van with all the trimmings. They're just back from 5 weeks on 2 sites in Devon and now looking to sell everything because (a) it's too big to store on his drive and (b) "it was nice enough but not really a holiday" (I don't think he and his wife are big on self catering! wink).

Reckons he'll stand to lose £3000 to £4000 on the deal but then "that's about what the Tenerife fortnight would have cost anyway"! surprised

(Anyone want a slightly used 2 year old van? laughing)

Every time I try and book any site with C&CC , I sort the availability, put in the outfit, number of people, time of arrival etc etc then click continue.. Normally this goes to the payment page " enter card details "  etc.. In July it was working fine but since August all I ever get is Sorry, something has gone wrong.. every single time. Gave up in the end. I think it must be some glitch caused by an update to windows 10 or similar, it isn't browsers as I've tried chrome, edge, firefox and even the android app same every time, sorry something has gone wrong. frown

Some say they having the same issue, others not... It's a perplexing IT issue and nothing seems to be improving. I tried phoning once, gave up after 10 mins wait..frown

Well I have just booked with no trouble at all Justus. I was using the latest versions of both W10 and Firefox. I think the C&CC got someway into a web site upgrade and something went wrong and it seems to be stuck with some new pages and some old. I much prefer to use the older pages.

P.S. Try going in via >here< and then Book Your Pitch

Yes I prefer the old pages too... I have no idea what the issue is, but it fails every single time for me and was fine in July as we booked a couple of C&CC sites back then .. I've reported it about 6 or 7 times for all the good that did. No response, no change. Its more frustrating that some seem to be succeeding and have no idea why I am not ..frown

Its not your Security preventing you from moving to the payment page which maybe a third party page?

    peedee

P.S. I can get all the way to where it asks for card details for that site arriving on 20th Feb 2021 for 7 nights. It does not seem to be a third party page for payment.

My usual route with C&CC is sign in, choose a site, via "book it" put the details in and then the pitches types available come up, book a pitch type and the price details come up etc. I've just tried this and the money off code came up too (Wolverley as a test) so make sure you sign in first? They have a fast track booking system too but I like the slower version, checking out the site details first...so for me, it's "view site" then click on "book it." smile

I don't know , I have McAfee BT virus protect.. I'll have a rummage about.. In the mean time I'm conscious of blocking this thread so we perhaps should leave it there. But which ever route I take, and after signing in first, book the site, enter number of people etc etc, but eventually the result is the same as the screenshot ..Oh for a msg function..Thanks ..smile
