Winter in Portugal???
Having been to France and Spain in the winter we are considering going to Portugal for a month or so during this coming winter for a change, possibly Jan/Feb/Mar. Having never been to Portugal has anyone got any general advice or suggestions on routes, suitable sites or areas etc etc. Is there a specific forum somewhere on tinternet?

I googled Winter in Portugal to see what the oracle would tell me - the first words were " Winter in Portugal is best described as mild but unpredictable" . Could you perhaps persuade someone in the family look after your dog while you jet away to somewhere better than that?

we used the collective wisdom of AD, DD and WTG to gather info ffor our first foray to Protugal, with the van..
we also came down through France (from Cherbourg) and crossed northern Spain from Irun to Valencia. a rest stop there was followed by a westward trip via Granada and Seville into the Algarve and our 'destination' stop which was also Turiscampo..
we loved the site (and the company) and spent two happy weeks on a top class site.
we still had more of southern Spain to see, so our return trip was back eastwards along the Algarve where we made several impromptu stops and turned out to be the most interesting part of the tour.
we did more Spanish touring and then retraced our steps from Valencia back to south west France and lingered a bit enjoying a few new to us towns..
i can recommend Portugal, plenty to see and do and very friendly.
enjoy..
