Thinking logically, he knows the EHU was disconnected at 7.00 because that is the time his clock shows.

This assumes it wasn't reconnected before he awoke.

Hang on, sorry but why are folk arguing over a persons clock, none of your business. Is this a new low?

Bollard testing happened to us in May, afternoon time so not as inconvenient, I didn't see any advance warning  but no big deal for us.

But surely testing at early doors is completely showing a lack of consideration to people who are on site.

Is anything on this forum "proven" in full?

You can only go on whats posted.

It would appear that some posters "Factually" have defend this practice (unplugging of ehu by the club early am) even if not "Proven"

Therefore it makes no odds does it!

So some posters also would not be that concerned if for example some holidaymakers mains operated medical aid was switched off?

For example my mate years ago in his motorhome took his Sleep Apnea machine, it's fine for a site to switch it off for the sake of what exactly?

Let's not chastise the club, but the OP for having the wrong clock!

    A new low surely.

Well explain your theory to those who posted early on who decided the op had the wrong clock!

    🤣🤣🤣

It could be a complete and utter lie (op), but the responses where based upon it being not, hence my dismay.

I do find it highly unlikely that the warden was testing EHU at 7am and I do wonder if this was a supposition on behalf of the OP. I am certainly guilty of unplugging somebody's connection in error when leaving a site.

On the club site that we were on, it was a contractor testing the bollards.

So they could turn up at anytime unless a specific window was stipulated.

Maybe, but site staff would have to be 'on duty/available' to admit them to the site and, as pointed out above, they wouldn't normally be available at 7.00 am.

    Morning

As I stated earlier, no contractor would be allowed on site at that early hour. Anyone outside of the club intending to work on an occupied site has to sign in at reception and supply the relevant risk assessments and method statements. Electricians test equipment including bollards annually and we notify in advance of that visit. Wardens test bollard rcd's monthly but no notice is needed as bollards are only done when unoccupied. Members remove hook-ups daily including their neighbours without noticewink

Normally, as part of a contract, times of access would be given as between 9am and 5pm ...... for example.

My main point was to correct you regarding your statement "warden testing bollards".

As I say, my dismay is with the initial responses to the OP.

Perhaps the club should employ a "Knocker up"

As I say, my dismay is with the initial responses to the OP.

If the OP woke up late he probably has no idea who unplugged the bollard. It is quite possible that when they eventually arose they saw the warden testing bollards, as I have occasionally seen them doing on vacant sites both on CC and on C&CC sites; put two and two together and made 5

I would love to know how the OP arrived at the conclusion that it was a contractor (a very early one) who unplugged his/her hook up. Evidence please. Wouldn’t a contractor put equipment back as found?

On the plus side, they have learned to use another method of wake up call, not plugged into the mains, to ensure their time critical activities aren’t reduced to throwing the toys out of the pram.

I think there have been some overreactions in this thread. Firstly, by the OP in assuming it was testing that broke the supply as it’s been explained by a warden that it would not have been, and secondly by others protesting at the content of posts. If they were out of order, a mod would have rushed to the scene of the crime.

At least it was a “story” and not a review.

A “Rant of the Day” thread would alleviate hurt feelings. Locked though, no replies allowed.😂

Good work Detective Sergeant JK. 👏🏻👏🏻

What a shame the OP didn’t speak to the warden at the time.🙄

Not quite.  We have still not established just who unplugged the lead, or reasoned out why the OP thought testing had been in progress.

The unplugging of leads could happen to anyone. I'm not aware of any Caravan Club site, or Camping and Caravan Club site, where the lead is plugged into a box that is then locked, but I have seen such an arrangement on commercial sites where the supply is through a prepaid meter.

I have an even more mysterious theory.......

Someone, IT savvy, has a means of using multiple avatar names, and drops slightly contentious posts into the story section every now and then, which are duly moved to discussions, and a tidy little argument kicks off.......

    🤔😁

(In order to make that comment non political, I have, of course,  omitted to make clear which Boris I'm referring to). laughing
