Why would you turn phones off?🤔

I have Apps running in the background, to turn off the phone would disable them. Not good for Home management☹️

One of those apps being a clock and another being the alarm😀

I charged my phone yesterday after 9 days since its previous charge. It was not below half charge but didn't want to forget. If I turned it off from 8pm to 8am I would not miss any calls and could last over 3 weeks without charging. Some smart phones though do get used a lot and soon consume power

apart from when on planes (even then airplane mode) or when instructed to in certain meetings, I never turn my phone off.

You surely don't need your phone on to use as an alarm? I have a 12 year old phone that I use as an alarm. It is switched off for all but 5 seconds a day. It switches on when the alarm time is reached and sounds off. I usually up and dressed by 6.30 am and when it sounds off at 7am I am ready for it.

Don’t know, Easy. I’ve never tried with it turned off as I never turn it off overnight. Sure as eggs the clock won’t show a display when it’s off!
Sometimes turning off and powering up again can use more battery than just leaving it on poodling along.

If I wake through the night needing the loo I look at the time. If it's anything like.getting up time I stay in bed & hold on. If it's the middle the night I get up, go to the bathroom & then get back in bed with the satisfaction of having hours to before getting up. 😉

Getting back to the OP. We came back to our caravan last year to find that the Alko control panel had obviously been without power at sometime and later discovered that the post had been replaced some time though the day. Nobody warned us of the replacement but it made no odds.

Think I would nod off again trying to remember that.

Can the cockrell distinguish between BST and GMT?

I've always turned my mobile off at night. Don't want it pinging with Email messages through the night. There's always the landline if anyone wants me urgently and if I'm away I don't want to be disturbed anyway.

Mine doesn’t disturb me, CY. It’s well trained and knows when to be quiet and dark while still fully functioning. The wonders of modern techie gear, eh?

yes, exactly my point made earlier when things are moved from the stories section often there is no response from the OP.

Smart phones are marvellous things. I actually took the time to fiddle around with my latest, and the range of functions is amazing. By no means the latest model either. Taking the time to allocate different ring tones to different numbers means I filter out the important (OH, Sis) from the “cant be bothered”. 😁
