Austrian Vignettes Near Bregenz

We are intending to travel via Lake Constance(Bodensee) to Italy next month.  We will be stopping at the North-West end of the lake (Campinggarten Wahlwiess, Stockach) before travelling into Austria to stop at Panorama Camping Sonnenberg, near Nuziders.  Are there places to purchase an Austrian Vignette on the B31 before we cross the border?  I know that filling stations sell them and in the past we have travelled via Garmish, buying a vignette at Mittelwald.  Unfortunately Germany does not "do" Google street view and so I cannot find out if there is one on our journey.

I see from the maps that there is a "Rastation" on the A 96 at Bregenz, just over the border into Austria.  Will it be too late for me to buy one there?

The motorway travels on to the Pfander tunnel which is a toll tunnel, does anyone know what the charges are?

When I last went that way I simply stopped at the Austrian border post before Bregenz and bought an Austrian vignette there ( in the same way as entering Switzerland at Basel) . The Austrian vignettes are valid for ten days or two months. Unlike Switzerland one vignette covers both car and caravan in Austria.

There  is an additional toll for the Arlberg tunnel but as far as I know the normal vignette will cover you for the Pfander tunnel.

Some years ago we stayed at Lindau and Bregenz is not far over the border. This is a fuel station just over the border and I have just looked at Google Maps and if you click on the fuel station it brings up a series of photographs and there at the entrance is the sign advertising the vignettes so you should be OK. Look out for this sign.

Don't worry plenty of places to buy a vignette either side of the border.  I always find it easier and quicker to get one at a garage just before the border.  You need a vignette before you drive on Austrian motorways or you risk a large fine!  By the way, fuel is cheaper in Austria than in neighbouring countries.

The Pfander Tunnel has no additional toll, unless its changed very recently, the Alberg Tunnel is 10e.

Many thanks people, your help is much appreciated.

Thanks Dianne for the links. It seems an age since we met at Ossiachersee.

We set off at the begining of May for an eight week trip and although we have been to Italyseveral times before, on this occasion we shall be heading to the Dolomites, Lake Garda and the Ariatic coast.
