Travelling after Brexit

As I understand it the Dutch, and any other EU points of entry will be checking for POAO-products of animal origin-the import of which is banned/restricted so presume that will not apply to fruit & veg etc.
The reports seem to be about items being confiscated but who knows when they will move to imposing penalties, or what they might be.
Recent media reports in Cornwall said that our shellfish suppliers have had their business wiped out as they are, at the moment unable to export live shellfish which, according to the report, amounted to 2000 tons a week.

"POAO-products of animal origin-the import of which is banned/restricted so presume that will not apply to fruit & veg etc"
sure i read somewhere that they were confiscating oranges ??? could be wrong, but whatever, just another note to my admin assistant to check that we are not exporting/importing any bacon, sausages or anything else for that matter that we normally stock up with for the trip down before visiting the local Mercadona on arrival at final destination,
anybody know if food for pooch is affected?, guess we may be ok with the dried stuff, but tin stuff could be on the black list.
Oh well chances of going overthere any time soon are pretty slim so we have time for everything to calm down

All are capable of that including us🤷🏻♂️. It’s nothing to do with timing-a time has to be given so both sides are on board & aware👍🏻. You need to look deeper, be it 10mins to 1pm or 30mins past 9am it means nothing it’s the action that’s paramount.

I hope we are going to reciprocate and confiscate European driver's lunch boxes. It just shows what a petty bureaucratic mindset prevails in Brussels. The stuff is for personal consumption for goodness sake.
I'll have to check GoogleEarth for Leclerc/Carrefour/Intermarche as the first waypoint on the journey. I suppose a masss blocking of the car parks with caravans and motorhomes would be a suitably gallic tactic.

I thought it was only fresh and uncooked meat and dairy products that we would not be allowed to take. The likes of milk, cheese, butter/spread, eggs, cold meats, fresh meats etc.
I thought tins and dried stuff was ok, am I wrong if so does it also mean no home cooked meals for the journey. What about cereals and biscuits. They better not tell me I can't take tea bags

CY, cancel your plans to travel over there, make a stand & refuse to fund this ‘petty bureaucratic mindset’ that prevails in Brussels. Stand with your head held high, that’ll show em👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Wont be the first person to think along those lines, usually only go to Spain spring time to get some early sun & warmth and visit daughter who lives there. Could buy a really expensive sun lamp, some vitimin D tables and a subscription to zoom as an alternative

Headline grabbing......it will be used in emergency only to save our sugar beet crops that are dying from a disease that can only be managed at present by a certain insecticide that is harmful to bees, and we are not the only country to grant the use of this insecticide , there is a list of approx 10 other EU countries who will use the same insecticide in a controlled manner as an emergency measure

I had some sandwiches confiscated at Amsterdam entry during the foot and mouth. Really quite amusing. When asked if we had any food stuff I remembered we had sandwiches for the trip that we had not eaten due to lack of hunger at the airport. I passed them over and they were inspected and declared OK as they were thick salad ones. I did correct them as they were beef salad.

If I, or any other LV owner, was inclined, there are sufficient obscure stowage locations on board that the monitoring/inspection of it could be rendered impractical.
I see the regulations allow 20Kg of fish so that should confuse any sniffer dog.

You could stick a stowaway in there to bring back & earn enough to cover your break over there👍🏻. . .You are most welcome👍🏻

I'm not quite sure why people are surprised. We have had decades of not needing to worry about all this nonsense, but once we left the EU we still somehow expected to have the benefits, such as easy travel. These aren't just EU rules, they also hold for other countries, to which you have never been allowed to take foodstuffs from the UK. That is why it is a good idea to be inside a club rather than outside it looking in. As for those who say they won't be going to Europe again, that is their choice.. all the more room for me on Eurotunnel!
